Great stay at The White Swan
We had a great stay at The White Swan. The staff were so helpful and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. Centrally located in the area made lots of local places, attractions and events available to us as well as all the things in Duns itself. The White Swan was built mid 1700s, with all the quirkiness of such an old building, so be prepared for some oddities such as the undulating floor near the window and en suite in the room we had. Loved our stay there.

We didn't get the room we booked. Floor was slanted. Beds uncomfortable. The bartender was the only thing pleasant about the stay.

Great breakfast and bar menu. Good cleanliness, bit dated kettle needed replacing, fixed room blind myself. Great value and no complaints. Nice village in the borders, near Edinburgh.

Had a lovely time here. The hotel & room are a not dated and quirky however the room was spotless and the service was impeccable. Very friendly and very professional. Great value for money.

The shower (in Room 6) was fantastic! But only 4 power sockets in a family room meant some compromises between bedside lights, TV, kettle, phone charger and laptop.

Great value hotel
Overall great value hotel. Free breakfast, lovely helpful staff, the decor is slightly dated but still very clean rooms and bedding. Would definitely recommend.

In need of some refurbishment
Hotel was tired but clean. Mattress on bed very comfy although room was very hot even with window open - it was hottest day however! Would be good to have sheet under quilt so you could ditch quilt. The food & service were excellent however and food/drink prices were excellent. I did think the b&b prices were a bit steep for the quality of room however.

I was a bit cautious about this hotel, I’ve known of it for years as it’s very close to the client I visit every 4 weeks. It’s quite tired looking and tbh it is, but the staff were lovely, my room was great,(lovely and warm) and the food was excellent. Pleasantly surprised and would use it again.

Decent Option in Town Centre
Good location in town centre. Very friendly staff. Room was comfortable but lacked anywhere to sit/work. Overall, the hotel looked as though it could do with some serious TLC. Breakfast was good. Overall, good value for money.

The Expedia listing doesn't really do this place justice. I needed somewhere to stay near Duns for a night and this place was one of the only choices. It looked like it might be a bit run down from the listing. I'm pleased to say that this was not the case. The hotel was lovely, the room was comfortable and the (included) breakfast was great (and served in a way to minimise covid risk). The absolutely only thing I can criticise is that the water temperature in the shower was a really inconsistent. If I need to stay near Duns again this place will be the top of my list.

very unhappy customer
arrived at hotel at 11 30pm, could not gain access, rang the phone number on the booking in slip, no one answered therefore after 30 mins of trying to get access, had to go to another hotel and pay again. On the booking in details says can book in upto midnight that is the reason we booked the hotel however the details are very misleading
