We were charged for an extra person even though we were 5 people in a 5 person room. Everything you looked at wasn’t in the right shape. Motel parking is awkward.

Thank you. The only thing that I need to address was the towel was not enough as I add one person. Plus the refund that they owed me it didn't come through. The place was good. Enough space but toiletry resources was not enough. For example towels and toilet paper.

Older motel with large rooms
The motel met my needs for a place to sleep. My room was larger than I expected / remembered booking so if you are looking for a motel with a full kitchen, this will meet your needs! The internet didn't work one day but otherwise it worked for a brief stop in Dunedin.

When we checked in it started out great they showed us two rooms to pick from however neither of them was the room we booked. He then said someone else was in the room we booked so he didn’t know what to do. He said I should have booked with them directly instead of using Expedia and then I would have gotten the room I wanted. We needed somewhere to stay as being a long weekend we wouldn’t have been able to find something else to accomodate 5 people so chose one of the rooms. I asked for a discount and they gave us a voucher for a restaurant that they also owned so we ended up giving them more money instead of getting a discount! Parking and driveway was very tight with no real roadside parking either. We will not be staying there again and would not recommend to anyone.

Hi Jo, Sorry about the room again, because of that offer you a 50 voucher for Law courts hotel so can have some free food and drink, in the meantime you look happy and if not just talked to us directly and we try our best again. And I said if you need a room in the future can book with me. Each unit has 1 own parking area but last weekend we were fully booked, but show you the 1 spare car parking also in the motel area, but the next day I moved my car on street just for you so that your 2 cars can park together. Amy was super helpful in helping me organise late check-in, and I'm super grateful that she dealt with my late night call when we went to the wrong door of our motel room! I think the room smelt a little of cigarette but we quickly adjusted, but I imagine it's left over from when people could smoke in motel rooms as the decor was outdated but still a really great room to stay in. Amy was able to give us separate beds after initially telling us there was only a queen bed available, so I'm grateful for that too. Overall, we had a great stay and I wish I'd been able to stay longer than we did! Would definitely stay there again!

This property is very over priced for what it is. It is very dated decor and the bedding covers were stained. Should be priced more budget per night rather than motel standard.

Rather dated, but clean and tidy. Get what you pay for, we had a 2 bedroom unit for a very good price. Heating was basic and took a while to warm up but was June. But everything worked and provided. Unit was on close to street but minimal noise

Definitely recommended
It may be old, but is scrupulously clean, beds are comfortable, shower at good pressure no complaints. Steven the host was very friendly and helpful. We stayed during O week, so a bit noisey with teenagers partying, had to LOL, at notice on the door (re noise control contact details)but super close to uni halls of residence Caroline Freeman College, which suited me well as was settling my daughter in.

Location is noisy. We had a road side unit. Its pretty run down in general but was clean and tidy. Obviously had previous issues with strong cooking smells as there was plenty of signage. Payment was an issue. Was charged a massive +3.5% for VISA which didn't appear on the invoice so really this is dodgy. Its very unusual to be billed + % for VISA card. Parking was limited.

Hi Mark, may I have your email and my manager will resend your invoice to you. The parking space is available for one for each unit, because the room was fully booked on that day, so it is not enough to provide more parking spaces.

We stayed for 11 nights
We requested a ground floor unit as we had preschoolers. Our unit was not one of the ones that have been renovated but had everything we needed and the ground floor suited us better than trying to get preschoolers, stroller, shopping etc up the 2 flights of steps everyday. Probably within a 500m radius there's a dairy, bakery, heaps of take away shops, petrol station, botanical gardens and supermarket. It's convenient to city centre, hospital and museum. Staff are super friendly and the units are serviced everyday. Don't fool yourself, you're on the main road going south and surrounded by uni flats, there will be some noise at some point but we never had trouble going to sleep at night.

Badly in need of an update
Generally needs a lot of updating. Bed was uncomfortable and pushed up against a wall to allow for a single bed in the main bedroom. Furniture was old and dingy. Both nights were there there was a lot of street noise and no close by restaurants were available.

Location is ok, bed is at least comfortable, very basic and quite dated. Wifi is horrendous that even the Dunedin City free wifi is faster.
