Our room wasnt ready for us at 3pm as specified. Staff friendly. Empty wrappers in minibar and mouldy bathroom. Breakfast ok but doesnt get restocked

Good position- close to the tower and river and within 20 minute walk of the old town. Negatives- the room we were offered stank of smoke. The second room also smelt heavily of smoke. The 3rd room offered was much smaller but was odour free. We asked for a refund but was refused.

Excellent
Excellent hotel, with a unique and quirky character. Excellent service from the staff, lovely rooms, and good breakfast. Location is slightly out of the way, but well located for the Mediahafen. We were visiting for the Rheinkirmes, and for that the location is very convenient.

Far too hot
I had room 620, which is the one in the pictures with the large windows. Which is on the top floor and directly faces the sun all afternoon and evening. The room has no air conditioning and no air flow. The curtains do not fit and do not block the sun. It was like a sauna. I asked for a fan and was told there was not one. Too hot to sleep until after 1am, then sun streaming in through the badly fitting curtains at 5 to wake you up again. A terrible stay and a place not to ever go back to.

Safe place to stay
Perfect place to stay for a solo business traveler. Tidy enough, good bathroom, accommodating staff. I did like having the breakfast included. The area was very quiet, but easy enough to get around with the tram stopping just outside the hotel, but if a bit later, not to far to walk from the underground. The area is quite good, and very safe. Please note the wifi was slow, but adequate.

Too little for too much
The hotel is comfortably placed in a near to center area with a tram just outside the door. However the hotel it self presents its self as a 4 star hotel which is 1.5 too much for the level of the facilities and the level of room cleaning and servicing. Personally I will avoid future visits to this hotel and recomand others to do the same.

Great hotel for the price. Location was fair enough, accessible by foot n bus to the main station. Breakfast spread was very good for the price paid really. Internet was the main bummer. Apart from that was a good experience

The average temp in Dusseldorf during my stay at the hotel was 94F. The hotel has no air conditioning, most of the hotels in Europe/Germany do not have air conditioning. Not an issue in the past. This year it was. There was no relief from the heat. The staff did their best to provide fans for the rooms, drinks and some comfort in the lobby, there was a good draft. It was my first stay and I would go back considering the weather. The Hotel is centrally located, within minutes to the Rhein, Koenigs Allee, and Altstadt. The breakfast, a wide range of food, was inviting and the room on the lower floor, a welcome "cool" change from the heat.

Basic hotel near to town centre
Bed and breakfast hotel only. Breakfast variety good but nothing to keep food warm consequently cold bacon, cold scrambled egg and white sausage! Room stifling hot with very small fan and very tired looking furnishings now in comparison to 5 years ago when we stayed there before. Would recommend a long awaited spruce up.

Great hotel/staff!!! 10 min walk from old town
I arrived around 8:30 am. Check in was 3pm. The wonderful lady working the front desk took the time to go check on a room for us and we were allowed to check in by 8:45am. Such a big del as we were able to rest after an all night flight. She said we could go to the free breakfast after getting settled since it went till 10am. We fell asleep and never had breakfast so I can’t comment on the food since we left around 5am the next day. I was allowed to borrow some phone charger adapters from the front desk. Room was just as the pictures showed. Staff was so kind and helpful. Comfortable beds and great water pressure. We walked for about ten minutes and found ourselves in old town. It was amazing.

There is no air condition so in Summer it will be hot. There is no elevator to your floor there is one that stays beetween the floors so either you carry your bagage upstairs or downstairs. The key to the safty deposit did not fit!!!. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the alt stadt. The room itself was very nice and quite newly renovated together with the bathroom. Breakfast was very good except for the so called scrabled eggs.

Ok hotel with good access to city centre.
We booked hotel well in advance and requested a quiet room, but room we got was very noisy from people out side & traffic noise, also no air con , room v.warm.Staff were brill tho.

Great location, nice 15 min walk along Rhine to centre, room was spacious but beds and pillows were uncomfortable and cleaning left a lot to be desired, tea & milk were not replenished after 1st day.

Christmas in Dusseldorf
4 night stay over Christmas whilst visiting friends nearby. Staff welcoming, helpful and friendly. Room good and bed really comfortable but there were no drawers to put bits and pieces in (socks and underwear) and we missed the ability to make a coffee in our room when we woke up in the morning (available in reception downstairs). Although on front of hotel we were not disturbed by traffic noise. Excellent choice for breakfast, although no croissants.

Good hotel to use as a base
Ideally situated for the fantastic Apollo theatre. A 5 minute walk to the subway that will take you to the Dusseldorf shopping areas. Restaurants are 2 minutes from hotel and the hospitality in the Pyjama bar is out of this world. The hotel staff are terrific, nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel staff were very helpful with directions to the Christmas market which was a 15 -20 minute walk. We had a power cut and the staff did everything to keep the residents updated with the progress, considering some residents were complaining about the wifi not working

This hotel has a rather quirky decor and some aspects are slightly dated and would benefit from upgrading eg the lift! The reception staff were always polite and welcoming, and frequently volunteered assistance which was a nice touch. The breakfast served was very good with a great selection of produce available even for a largely continental breakfast there would be something to suit even the most discerning. My room had a rather quirky if somewhat dated decor, however the bathroom was of a very good standard and overall the standard of housekeeping during my stay was high and i never had any issues with cleanliness. My stay was during a heatwave and due to no air conditioning and no fan there were times when it was rather hot and slightly unpleasant, but opening the window at night did help. I did not use the in -room mini bar but chose to move out all the items and use the refrigerator function which was a godsend given the heatwave! The mini bar was well stocked and competitively priced.

Escape from Alcatraz !!!!
Just a horrible room. Smelly with a very uncomfortable bed. Shower was so small I could not stand up or my head hit the ceiling-I an 6'4". Elevator barely worked and was worried about being stuck in it. Breakfast was actually good and allowed me to plan my escape from alcatraz!

You Should Consider This One
Its a Hotel that you should definitely consider. AT the price point, I feel , it was good value. Mine was a very short stay - Just 1 night. The Hotel, does the job. The Tram way passes in-front of the Hotel. So its nice.

IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL, 100 EUROS I HAD TO PAY FOR ALLEGED DAMAGE TO A BED THAT NEVER FELT, NEITHER SAW OR WAS SHOWED .... EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY THAT THEIR BEDS ARE THE BEST QUALITY ... VERY BAD EXPERIENCE ....
