Romantics in Dubrovnik

My wife and I went there for our wedding anniversary. We were upgraded to a suite. We had booked a balcony room which I would recommend in any event . Very good breakfast with usual English fried breakfast. Not far from the Old Town-about 15 minds to walk there but maybe a taxi on the way back( unless you are young) for about 15-16 Kunas. Old town is a must and the cable car to the top is brilliant. 100 kunas each. Try and avoid lunchtime as it is full of tourist groups. Best restaurant is KOPUN near St Ignatious church . Excellent value. We went twice!

Without doubt in my 54 years on the planet this is without doubt the best hotel I and my partner have ever stayed at. The location is not the best in Dubrovnik but within its its walls and you are in another world. Its a small hotel with a limited number of rooms, but it is spotless quiet and with all mod cons you would expect with 5 stars (these are deserved). The pool area is private and is never crowded. The staff are attentive but not intrusive and will go that extra mile to help guide and assist. The breakfast is wonderful and having tried numerous locations in the area for evening meal, we found no where better to eat than the hotel itself. What more can I say, I would and will recommend this hotel to family friends and anyone intent on a break away from it in a wonderful hotel in a lovely country with friendly people......5 Stars Are we glad we spent 2 weeks at this hotel.....................................................................................

Luxury hotel where nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I would highly recommend it for anyone travelling without children.

Looking at the other hotels by the Ariston, we think we had the best one. Built into the rock terrain in layers. 20 minutes by bus from the amazing Dubrovnik city. Brilliant facilities, food great, staff efficient and friendly, rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. Great bathroom. Wonderful views - gorgeous buffet breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea every morning was memorable. Would highly recommend both the hotel and Croatia - we all loved it!

From the moment we were dropped off at the hotel we were looked after. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The location was superb & the local bus to Dubrovnik called at the hotel every 15 minutes. Our room was spacious & comfortable with a balcony and beautiful views of the sea & coastline. The rooms were kept clean & tidy with fresh towels daily. There was a beautiful pool area & pool bar & there were ample beds available. Although there was no beach we were able to go swimming in the sea off the rocks. On the top floor there was a beautiful indoor pool area with a spa. There was plenty of choice for the breakfast buffet. The hotel restaurants offered a great choice of food and the sunset bar was a lovely setting & great place to end off the night! We should have been staying for 2 weeks but unfortunately we had a bereavement in the family & had to fly home early. The hotel had a guest relations officer who organised our flight home and made our nightmare bearable. We have nothing but praise for the way we were treated by the hotel staff.

Great pool and spa with ocean access for swimming. Gorgeous view of Old Town Dubrovnik. And within easy walking distance.

This is my first comment on a site like this but everything about the Grand Villa Argentina was of the highest standard but provided with a real air of professionalism mixed with genuine friendliness. Will definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed 3 lovely days at the Hotel Lapad. Good situation overlooking the harbour, between the scenic Lapad peninsula and the Old Town. Our room was really well equipped (best hotel shower ever) and we had a balcony with views of both the hills and the harbour. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet had a great selection of food, and we also enjoyed the dinner buffet in the evening.

Close to pile gate and easy to find on first arrival. Accommodation stylish and immaculate. We didn't use kitchen area but it looked like it had everything you would need. Good sized bathroom with powerful shower and constant hot water. Staff friendly and helpful.

I don't get what people moaning about I had a lovely stay and you will not find a better location (trust me I looked) staff were friendly and I would stay here again.
