This is a wonderful getaway place for Kiwis or if like us you’ve just spent 3 weeks touring and tramping New Zealand a lovely treat before the long flight back to Europe. The villa was perfect for our family of 5, we ate in one night and at the restaurant the others. We did our own breakfasts, eggs, porridge pancakes, cereal, all easily rustled up in the fully equipped kitchen. We explored the winery, ate in the restaurant and winery, visited the beaches and used the pool. Lack of joined up thinking and provision from the staff. Villa not serviced daily (beds and emptying of bins sufficient), pool towels are to be kept for the duration of the stay rather than issued at the pool and renewed at each visit (this could have been to save the environment but see my next comment). We hung our pool towels, bath towels and bath mats up for reuse in the villa but returned to the hotel to find 4 towels left for 5 of us and none of our beach towels, hand towels or bath mats. This was an unnecessary situation easily avoided if the staff are appropriately trained and briefed.
The sprinklers went on automatically which was great however not if you were having a beer on the deck before dinner as 4 unlucky guests found
We ordered bread and humus for our table (of 5) but each time only 4 pieces arrived
Water for our table enough in a jug for 3 after talking it through the waiter understood we needed to start with 2 jugs on the table
Attention and detailed training of staff will help
