Room 502 needs the chair replacing - didn’t fancy sitting on it. Needs floor corners and skirting boards cleaned. Weird hole/gap in bathroom roof. Odd to not as least get a clean mug and biscuits for night 2. Corridors need tlc. Looking v tired

A nice hotel with a beautiful spa and golf facilities. The rooms are in need of an update but all facilities in room were working well. Hot shower, dressing gown and slippers. Staff work hard. Thank you to the lady in the spa area who accomated me with a late spa booking and the purchase of a swimming costume. The breakfast and evening meal lovely. Young man on reception very attentive and nothing to much trouble.

Lovely location and nice room, good restaurant and bar snacks available. No shaver socket and no coffee in room, no bottle of water in room. Would visit again taking above into account

The hotel staff were all great and helpful. The rooms are a bit dated and not as clean as I'd like but I'm extra tidy. The temp in the room was very hot even with the window open and radiator turned down. The dining was fabulous and great options. The spa was lovely just not enough slots and very minimal changing rooms for females. Would of been great in cubicles to have hooks to hang clothes too.

The food was significantly below standard. The menu was limited and better suited to a cheap high street bistro It was poorly cooked. Breakfast was a very poor standard buffet The spa was average as best The Rooms were unremarkable. I would recommend not staying here.

Peace and quiet.
My stay was very relaxing, we had a large room, in the manor part of the hotel. The room was clean upon arrival. We did not get any housekeeping over the four days. We had to ask for clean towels, water and toilet rolls. Staff were very helpful and friendly made you feel comfortable especially Sharon on the breakfasts. On leaving I stripped the bed in support of the staff to find no mattress protector and a badly stained quilt. I have reported to staff. Enjoyed the area went out for walks and some meals. Last time we stayed the menu was better not much I liked on the menu. Enjoyed afternoon tea. Felt the spa was overpriced for the facilities, Enjoyed the peace and quiet which was the point for my stay. I would stay again but would check the bedding before I slept on it.

It’s a 3 star at best
The hotel from the outside, lobby, bar and restaurant look nice. The corridors, bathroom and bedroom however was very dated with a very uncomfortable small bed. The staff are friendly enough but not 4*. We were put in a room at the far side of the hotel which wasn’t easy to access with all our luggage and no assistance provided. I would stay here again for 1 night on a business trip, but definitely not for a couples getaway. Ps. the seasonal vegetables is a bowl of beetroot

Nice hotel but Poor Management
Beautiful hotel on nice Grounds with a Good Spa next Door. Just a shame that their Reception Manager and Senior Management are Terrible . There is a Manager named GULTEN, who is extremely rude and Hostile. She hasn’t got a clue how to speak to people and is very unprofessional. She accused me of overstaying and asked why our belongings were still in the room, this is because she hadn’t checked to see I had booked 2 nights but lied and said she had. She then said why am I parked in the Disabled bay if I’m not disabled - this is after not speaking to her colleague Charlotte who I had told the night before about my disabilty Then she said why have you thrown a face mask on the floor which we did not it actually fell out of our car - to which she lied and said she saw my friend throw it I moved away from her to go and speak to Charlotte where she followed me and started shouting again, she shouts for 2 minutes , then you attempt to speak and she interrupts you and shouts some more. This person is a lunatic and will run this business into the ground. Then I complained to a more senior manager TOBY, who insisted on defending GULTEN which was even more strange. He kept saying someone else may have reserved this room - which was also a lie , which didn’t have anything to do with her lying about checking the bookings. If you support bad behaviour from your staff as a manager I can see why this beautiful hotel hasn’t got a rating higher than 6.8

TELL THEM ABOUT YOUR PET FIRST.
Amazing grounds and building but unfortunately got downgraded a room due to having a dog. The room was fine, not what I had booked, I was too tall to use the shower unfortunately. Great to be able to bring your dog that was a real benefit of staying there. Beautiful breakfast too

Terrible place, first room was filthy, second room was still dirty. Despite what Hotels.com would have you believe you need to pay additionally for access to the pool. Finally we was attacked by two wasps the morning of our stay. The windows were closed so there must be a hive in the loft. Reception didn't care too much.

Looks beautiful on the outside. Terrible on the inside. The room was dirty. Not just a bit, like don’t look too closely dirty. We were put in a room that wasn’t connected to the main nice part of the building. We had a series of progressively dirtier hallways to get to our room. We came in a back entrance as it was closer to parking, and the entrance was full of garbage. The room was very plain and prison like. Our bathroom had been “updated” very poorly, the shower head was hanging crooked and not sealed around the ceiling. The floor and carpet were crumby and stained. The towels has a weird smell. The walls were paper thin, and there was a bachelor party staying right beside us. It felt like a low class party house. Unfortunately I would never recommend anyone to stay here.

Disappointing stay but nice breakfast
We stayed here while travelling the UK. The check in was good. The hotel itself is quite pretty, especially the staircase. The lady who checked us in was cheerful and helpful. Our room was basic but ok. Half of the lightbulbs we're missing so it was quite dark. The room was quite noisy at night. We could hear every footstep along the corridor, which was quite a few as someone was running around banging doors. We went to the restaurant and our food was served chilled like it had come straight from the fridge(It was gnocchi and a shepherds pie). Breakfast was nice though

Found out upon checkin that the pool isn’t available to under 16’s which was a huge disappointment. I then discovered room service is only available to some rooms & that guests have to order at the bar & carry to the room themselves. The food I ordered was incomplete & cold at point of collection, There was music blaring from the function suite long into the night that felt like sleeping above a nightclub. My room wasn’t serviced on any day of my stay. There was black mould in my bathroom.

Awful, disgusting, avoid!!!!!!
This is simply NOT a 4* hotel. The food is worse than disgusting and borderline in-edible. The building is dated and in desperate need of some TLC. The room was shabby, and they dont offer room service, though you can ask for a tray and take the food up yourself... Went to run a bath for our 2 year old toddler, and the water was yellow! So was the sink water... Checkout staff advised, 'that hapens when we have a lot of rain but its perfectly safe' Beds are old spring mattress, terribly uncomfortable! The icing on the cake is that the building is so big it takes 10 minutes to get from the room we were in to the front end where 'facilities are' lots of steps up and down, NOT suitable for couples with young ones in a push chair! Finally, it is advertised as a 'Hotel / Spa' but the Spa is a seperate company... Guests have NO access to pools or any facilities... so this is completely misleading advertising and we will be seeking credit from hotels.com.

The hotel is in a very nice place and the building is beautiful however our room was very outdated, no fridge, bathroom was not clean, mould on the bathroom tiles, hair in the bath. Also there is no sound isolation at all - we were woken up at 3am by some guests. We could even hear a tv from our "neighbours" room. In regards to spa it was really nice however water at the outdoor pool was too cold (everyone were saying this) which resulted in very crowded indoor jacuzzi. Also steam room was not that hot either. Left disappointed especially that it was my birthday weekend and I was really looking forward to the stay.

Poor quality for high price
Stayed here for my friends wedding last night. It was £170 for the room, the bed base had completely collapsed and the mattress sunk right in as soon as you sat on the bed. Had to remove the mattress and put on the floor just so we could sleep comfortably.

Shrigley Hall is in a stunning location and is immpresive. The outdoor spa is amazing and worth a visit. Breakfast is great as is the restaurant, unfortunately during my 2 night stay i had no hot water and had to have 2 cold showers which is not ideal. However I did mention this to reception who dealt with the situation with professionalism and we are satisfied with the outcome. I would definitely stay here again despite this small issue

A super hotel where absolutely nothing was lacking in terms of facilities, parking, restaurant, Reception, style, surroundings, etc; save for one thing - at £11.50 for a large glass of Pinot Blush I thought was stiffer than a bit stiff. Regardless it is a super hotel and will stay again.
