A great property and great staff!!! We choose the panoramic penthouse and it was great!! Private huge balcony, huge living space and bedroom!! The beach across the street was great.

We stayed at this property many years ago, and since then it has gone into slow decay. Linens were not cleaned, sink drain was leaking on the floor every time we used the faucet, both entrance doors are not insulated so it gets extremely humid inside the room, poor ventilation in the bathroom, the restaurant is not in service and there is no food available. If you’re there to just have a place to crash and go out into the water then you’re OK. Also across the street the restaurant is closed and there’s very limited places to snorkel like we use to have years ago.

Very quiet resort with a very spacious and comfortable room. Always felt safe when enjoying the property at night or walking to somewhere else downtown. Cabs are always driving by and you can take one downtown for $8. The staff was friendly and tentative. The only downside would be that it’s not directly on a beach. That being said the beach is right across the street. Very easily accessible. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Buyer beware. This place is dank and creepy. I’m sure it was once charming, and the grounds are expansive. It could be lovely again with repairs and attention. I was put in a room in the rear of the property near a driveway with open access to the street. The room had a door connecting to the adjacent room, and the only other entry/exit was a sliding glass door with a teeny tiny lock. Not secure at all. And no working telephone in the room. The pavement and concrete is very uneven and I fell and injured myself leaving the property. I did not stay overnight because I was able to find a much safer hotel with much better vibes down the road. I came back to collect my luggage once it was daylight. I was willing to take the financial loss for my safety and hoped they’d be decent and refund the remainder of my stay when I checked out at noon. Buyer beware. They refused even a partial refund.

This is a nice outdoorsy property. Very clean. It's for people who know Cozumel and don't want to spend a fortune on accommodation but just want a nice clean, quiet comfortable place to stay with a nice pool and walking distance to activities and food. Half-sized fridges or larger in each room with modern TV.

Good location. Bizarre 2ft shower pit.
Located 30 min walk from town. Best to rent a car. It is quiet. Nice location just across the street from the beach. Nice mature landscaping. Older building in decent shape. No safe in the room so we had to store our valuables in the lobby lockers for a fee. Also if you needed a beach or pool towel you had to rent them from the hotel. Be very careful in the bathroom not to fall in the awkward 2 ft deep pit for the shower, it is literally a hole in the ground, very bizarre. Really bad smell in the bathroom coming from most likely shower drainage pipes. If you left the door open it would smell up the whole room but if you kept the door shut it would solve the smell problem. So you must keep the door closed or the room will smell from the bathroom drainage pipes. Didn’t drink the shower water but the shower water has a slight salt taste to it. Probably coming from the water source the government provides and the water pipes most likely have a crack/s allowing ocean water to seep in. It’s Mexico so you never drink the tap water. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Room was nice, roomy, good a/c. Comfy bed. Large bathroom - we had a superior ocean view room. The restaurant and bar were closed; however, we were within easy walking distance of other eating establishments. Large clean pool with plenty of chairs. No coffee maker in room; however, fresh coffee was available by the pool area each day. There was a mini-refrigerator in our room.

Villablanca Needs TLC
Arrived last ferry from Cancun, so hot & tired in the dark, dragging our luggage. Booked for 1 night last min change in plans. The place has potential to be lovely. I rent Airbnb props at home. Upon arrival, the place had a musty smell. Air-con was on, but frig was unplugged. The white plastic shower curtain in the bathroom was partially attached. I didn't dare take a shower if the presentation wasn't nice. The decor is from the 70's. I don't think they've replaced or modernized the bedding, bedspread, pillows or linens. Couldn't sleep due to lumpy, stinky pillows & grayish sheets. When I pulled the smelly orange bedspread off, I noticed mold patches. The toilets you had to hold the handle down for a full flush. The patio door lock was rusted closed so you couldn't enjoy the patio seating to enjoy the garden. They provided 2 bottled waters which was good for brushing teeth. Next day, I found the coffee, powdered cream, sugar, clean ceramic cup, & a plastic spoon under the covered patio outside by the closed restaurant. But no other amenities. The pool & jacuzzi were nice, but the lawn chair cushions were weathered. No pics to s. When you have the Carribean sea as your backyard, tourists coming in want that vibe of relax, unwind, breathe fresh air & desire beautiful things to look at. Unfortunately, we didn't get that environment at Villablanca. A few modern upgrades, de-cluttering & deep clean would be beneficial. Jara on the checkout was helpful & gave us good tips.

Older property that has been well cared for. Quiet and peaceful, friendly staff, and beautiful landscaped areas. The restaurant is currently closed but they have coffee, tea and water out for the guests every morning. We really enjoyed this older hotel!

I love the property due to the fact that it’s nestled in amongst beautiful palm trees and they have a lovely cooling pool too. The rooms are very spacious which is great when sharing a room with someone else.

The grounds were well kept. It was like a tropical garden everywhere you looked. The staff was very welcoming. Our room was like being in a tropical forest on three sides. The air conditioner was nice and cold. Bed was hard as is typical in Mexico. Its a older hotel with a lot of charm. Will definitely stay here on our next trip to Cozumel...

We stayed 11 nights. The rooms are clean and have a frig.It's an older property but the pretty grounds and swimming pool are well taken care of. Staff are friendly and helpful. Their is no resteraunt on site but coffee and tea are provided starting at 8am. It is a long walk into town, at least 30 minutes, we rented a car and were glad! Next door is a small cafe/ bar that serves breakfast- coffee, scrambled eggs, hash browns and toast for $5 total.

The property is beautiful, and is located in a relatively quiet area, but just a short, 20-30 minute walk from town. However, the rooms are dated, you can hear people talking in the next room, and the shower water is cold. Also, there is no ice machine. There are refrigerators in the room.

Great Place for Ironman and All
Our room was perfect for the two of us and within walking distance of many amazing restaurants, small shops, diving rentals, and downtown. Even though the hotel was older than some of the bigger resorts, it was much quieter and laid back than the bigger places. We were there for Ironman Cozumel and the hotel was a perfect place to watch your athlete on the bike course then walk to downtown to support them on the run.

This property was a nice place to stay. I stayed here once before In 2001 and it has grown a lot since then. It has a nice swimming pool and is across the road from the beach where are you can snorkel or book scuba diving in trips. The property offers free Wi-Fi and cable TV in Spanish.

Spacious room, great housekeeping. Was hoping restaurant would have been more available. Front desk people nice and also the Dive owners next door. Pretty much need to take a cab anywhere you want to go. Most of the cab drivers overcharged us because we were tourists.

My favorite place to relax in Cozumel. Helpful staff, and great rates with upgrade to suite on 2nd booking with Expedia. Some furniture and fixtures could use upgrade. Now Restaurant Mgr has improved food and service. H Beautiful grounds and relaxing. I'll be back!

I like the rooms, they are a very interesting layout. I had problems with WiFi, the Manager moved me to another room and resolved the issue very quickly. Staff are Friendly, very helpful. The distance to the Centro is a long walk but transportation is very economical and not a problem. I experienced high humidity while i was there, probably the season I stayed. I will stay again.

I payed very little for my room and my rating reflects value for the price. With all taxes and fees included we payed less than 60 a night. This is an older hotel, not at all in the style of a typical American chain. Our room was very basic but the grounds are lovely and there is nice snorkeling across the street and several fun beach club/restaurants nearby where one can eat, snorkel, and watch the sunset. This room might not suit everybody; I've heard that the more expensive options on the property are considerably nicer. No coffee making supplies are provided. Sheets were clean and cotton but fairly coarse, not much furniture in the room and only outlets were behind the television. The shower has only one temperature, which is too hot for me, but most people like hotter showers than I do. Fridge worked well. AC and ceiling fan kept things plenty cool. Windows have screens and wooden shutter/blinds, so very little natural light (intentional in this style of architecture for hot climates). A good made to order breakfast was available two days of our stay and coffee all 3 (both for a fee). On the 3rd day we ventured out, just steps from the hotel to a cheaper and equally nice breakfast at Papa Hogs. The jacuzzi is not heated and the jets don't work. We enjoyed the unheated pool. I should also mention that our travel was delayed by a day because of a snowstorm at home and the management graciously moved our reservation despite the fact that it was a non-refundable booking.

Pros & Cons to this hotel The room it self was clean overall. The entire property needs some attention to certain areas. Our room was nice except the curtain to balcony was covered in mold on the back side. But beds were comfortable and room was very clean otherwise. Nice bathrooms but getting towels was difficult. 1 of our balcony chairs was broke along with 2 other rooms that had friends had had balcony chairs that needed replaced as well. The pool was nice but the furniture outside cushions were in need of replacement. The beds that are by the pool no one would lay on as the cushions were black underneath. No coffee pot in room so purchased our own as it was $2.00 to go get coffee each morning from little place next door so easier and cheaper to buy own and leave behind. Nice quiet location and easy to grab a taxi and get where we wanted to go with much ease. So lots of conveniences to the property.

Property grounds were beautiful. Our room, although clean, needed serious updating and maintenance. Our room was way in the back of the resort, those by the pool upfront looked more modern and updated. The staff couldn’t be nicer and more helpful. When reported about different items that needed fixed, they were prompt to respond. The food in the little restaurant was good and affordable. In all, it was affordable and convenient.

This place has a great location, walk distance to many places. It’s very clean, the rooms are bigger and better than the pictures show it. The down size is that the beach across the street is pretty rocky and no lounge chairs. The breakfast is simple: bread, fruit, egg, coffee and juice.
