The room was huge for a single traveler - had 3 beds to choose from. It had a deep bathtub, where I took a hot soak after a long day walking. The desk clerks were quite helpful and I enjoyed the breakfast cafe (where I learned that my version of Cafe Americano using the machine was to run extra hot water in the cup then the Cafe Americano button)

Nice staff. Good location. Hotel very outdated. Beds not comfortable. Very noisy, walls very thin. Every morning i could hear the staff and guests talking which woke me up.

Great location, needs a bit of attention
Perfectly placed but the room a bit tired. It was clean but chipped paint. Not that important but why only one mug for two guests! No milk in the room, peculiar sachets containing coffee, milk and sugar. If you didn't take sugar, well, you were out of luck! Average breakfast, good scrambled egg though! Just a bit more attention to detail and a spruce up would improve the hotel enormously. Its position, on a square opposite the central market and bars, and the fact it has nearby parking makes it still worth considering. Friendly staff too. Didn't try dinner in restaurant which seems to have good reviews.

parking was far away from the hotel access to hotel and parking required driving through narrow streets. WIFI did not work at all. next to construction site. the breakfast buffet was surprisingly good.

Older hotel that is nicely taken care of. Room was in good overall condition. Service was generally pretty good. The walls are a bit thin, but for the value this is a pretty decent place.

No answer on reception over a 2 hour period. When we eventually found the number of reception via room service. No general info in room. I.e. Wifi you needed to ask for it specifically. On the wall the fire advice was call reception but no telephone number. 5 floors up if there had have been a fire we would have been in serious trouble. We asked Reception the next morning about numbers to ring directly in case of emergency. They had no idea of numbers for a ambulance in case of a medical emergency. Police or the fire service. They looked it up on google, they advised me they did not originate from Spain and had only worked there one month, so did not know!!! Scary.. we had been warned of minimal provision re one tea bag one coffee sachet and one broken cup between 2 and went prepared with our own supply. Problem with strong smell from sewage at the reception.Plus side great location. Very comfortable beds. Fridge and kettle. You get what you pay for. Does have a roof top restaurant but it was closed for winter!

Good location and friendly, helpful reception staff - room facilities are dated, but functional, however the big problem was the lack of any soundproofing meaning you could hear everything from surrounding rooms, particularly the plumbing which was very loud. I expect this in budget hostals in Spain but not hotels. Wi-Fi connection was unreliable.

Well Priced, but Service Needs Improvement
Stayed one night at the Hotel Sercotel Urbis Centre on our way to Barcelona after reading reviews about Tarragona. The city is beautiful and worth seeing. Upon arriving at the Urbis, we were asked by the front desk clerk for our "voucher". I showed him the paid Hotels.com receipt, and he became upset and said to forget about it. I asked him again what he was looking for, to let them know that nothing was sent to me, and he again said to forget about it. While not a big deal, I was very underwhelmed at my first experience in the hotel. The room was basic but clean, and the location is not great but they city itself is not large and we were able to walk most of it during our 2 day stay.

Convenient and central, great for 1 night stopover
Cheap and cheerful. For the price this central, conveniently located hotel was perfect for a one night stopover. Wouldnt necessarily recommend for longer stays. We shared a family room which was fine for a night.

not the same hotel it was 5 years ago
skirting board in room loose (dangerous if you have children) booked room for 3 people 3rd person would have to have been 4 feet tall as 3rd bed was like a child bed i stayed here 5 years ago it was like a different hotel then i will deffinatley not stay there again

Excellent hotel at a bargain price
A very typical European hotel in terms of room size and amenities. The hotel was spotless. The breakfast (B&B plan) was outstanding. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. The location is excellent: just two short blocks from the main street of Tarragona, about 15 minutes walking time to either the cathedral or the Roman ruins. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Very central location. However, detailed instructions need to be provide for first time arrivals. Also, advance information on the parking arrangements and how to get to the car park should also be advised to future customers well before arrival. Otherwise very central and good value.

Initial hotel reception
We booked two seperate rooms two months in advance, one with a double bed and one with two twin beds. When we arrived the hotel did not have these rooms available but provided the option of one room with 4 single beds and 1 bathroom or two rooms with double beds. The hotel receptionist became very defensive when we delined their arrangements and we were informed that any other option was "impossible" including getting a refund so we could go to another hotel. Eventually we were told that if we took the two double bed rooms for one night, a twin room would open up the following night that we could have. As both rooms were booked under the same name, it was easy to understand the hotels assumption that we were a young family who would be happy with the one room, however, it was frustrating when the hotel realized it's mistake but continued to express the impossibility of entertaining any other option, especially when it turned out other options were available. Unfortunately, this first impression left us all with a negative feeling regarding this hotel for the remainder of our stay.

this hotel is basic but fine. It is 10 minutes walk from all the important sites and the roman forum ruins are right next to it, as well as an interesting food market. breakfast is ok, rooms ok

Excellent location
The location was perfect, close to city centre and the old Roman town. The Hotel was clean, with air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent. On the down side, parking seemed to me to be somewhat expensive and the family room was small. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel Urbis centre Tarragona Spain
Due to one way systems difficult to find Hotel & parking. However, once found we enjoyed a lovely night. Hotel room was small and basic but buffet breakfast was included and we were satisfied. Took the little sightseeing train tour which was super. Free access to internet in lobby. Tarragona had a lovely warm friendly feel about the town and food market was located beside hotel. Only regret didn't have time to stay a little longer. Would certainly go back for a visit.

Hotel Urbis in Tarragon
Convenient location and comfortable. Only stayed 2 nights and didn't ask much of the staff but they were helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced (a discount was offered if booked on check-in). Would recommend.

Would Stay Again
We found this hotel to be more than we expected for a european hotel. The room was rather large and very clean. The hotel looks as if it has been recently updated as well as the surrounding buildings. We arrived late at night and had to take a taxi from Reus Airport (30,00 euro). The next day we found it to be only a short walk to the train station and the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.

Hotel Urbis Centre in Tarragona - Good Location
From Tarragona train station hotel is 5 to 10 minutes leisurely walk away. However it is situated up a STEEP hill and is probably best advised to grab a taxi if you have heavy bags. Hotel itself is very central, two minutes stroll from main street (Rambla Nova). Room had twin beds, was a reasonable size and basic facilities, but most importantly, was spotlessly clean. For the price it's certainly decent value. Didn't eat in hotel so I can't comment on restaurant facilities. Check in was quick and fuss free, as was check out. Staff were polite and helpful. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.

Not the best hotel in Tarragona
It is in a nice location, and it appears modern and clean However, the bed was not comfortable, the pillows hard. I had 3 really bad nights sleep there and I was on a business trip, so not ideal. The breakfast was very low in quality, coffee from a machine. The worst was my colleague had to change rooms 3 times because of the overwhelming sulfurous stench when the heating came on in the room. The same smell hits you on the way in to the foyer, it smells like drains. Anyway, avoid is my advice

Hotel Urbis Tarragona
A clean well run hotel close to the indoor market. Easy walk to the main parts of town. Tarragona is a very interesting place with a lot to see and I would definitely go back and would have no problem staying at this hotel again.

Little difficult to get to the hotel because of one way streets. Parking although close took some navigating back through more streets to enter the parking garage, 15.25E a night. Nice hotel and good service and location. Free use of computer in lobby although it was pretty slow. Good price for a nice hotel.

as I said before the reception staff (all of them) could barely force a smile. Our room 204 had one of the worst views ever over themarea between the hotel and next door. However this may have been a godsend as the front of the hotel faces the main market and may then have been noisy quite early/ The room was simple, clean with a very comfy bed. Enough storage. A flat screen tv but with no English channels. The bathroom was one of my causes for complaint. The over-bath shower was not hooked onto the wall so you had to hold it. Not the best. Lots of hot water though and good water pressure. The lighting was not very good in the bathroom for make-up/contact lenses etc. The WORST thing though were the builders in the room next door, just about knocking the wall down behind my head at some unearthly hour of the first morning there. If I didnt have a hangover before, I soon developed one.! I really thought they were going to burst through and scatter building rubble on my face. Reception promised it would be finished before the next morning. The banging was but it then sounded like mice scurrying round and sandpapering the wall behind my head. Having said all that, I am sure it was a one-off and would certainly recommend the hotel/ We had breakfast the 1st morning but after that, we bought stuff in the market across the road and just had coffee in the local bar.

Buen trato con el cliente. Habitaciones modernas y bien equipadas. Cuenta con un pequeño restaurante muy útil para tomar menú en invierno. Desayuno de buffet bastante completo. Único pero, las escaleras y el ascensor estrechos.
