"This might have been the rattiest La Quinta I have ever stayed in. I've been a big fan of this hotel chain for the last 20 plus years but this one was about as bad as I've ever seen it. To start on a positive note, the staff was fantastic, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast is good. But, the exterior of the building facade is missing pieces and has some kind of oxidation or calcium deposits running down the face of the building. The lobby and breakfast area are very clean and well kept. But, oh my God, the smell is truly awful. They are using some kind of overpowering carpet deodorizer or air freshener and it truly makes it difficult to breathe. In the room, it smelled like deodorizer trying to cover up dog pee, there is a large gap underneath the door, the curtain rod sags down where the curtain runs towards the middle of the rod, coffee inserts don't and fit the maker (they're too small and have to be jammed in to stay in place), and there's mold in the bathroom.
I had a reservation there for followimg weekend as well, but I canceled it in favor of another hotel. They had a cheap rate to stay there, and now I know why. I will not be returning."
