Small room, small bathroom and poor accessibility - very small elevator that can exactly accommodate 2 people or 1 person with suitcases Good location, walking distance to Hauptbanhoff and the cathedral

The only thing I didn’t like was the wifi, it was very poor. If you need wifi it is a problem besides that everything was great!

Highly recommend
Very friendly staff. Small boutique hotel, but i stay here everytime I go to Cologne. IRS clean, tidy and walking distance to train, river and mall.

This is a family owed hotel and for that reason my parents and me enjoyed our stay so much. Friendly staff, great breakfast and even a doggie that you can pet if you want. The owner is an older lady and she was the one that took care of us during breakfast. She was amazing.

Clean, super comfortable hotel with a small lift.
The hotel owner's mom (a Welsh) is very nice and generous offering us complimentary coffee upon arrival while waiting for our room. Hotel is conveniently located at city's main attractions, especially the Cologne Cathedral. All within walking distance. Room is very spacious and breakfast superb. Highly recommended. If i come again, I will choose this same hotel.

Location good
Good location few mins walk from station - family room, as expected, bathroom tiny, shower very small and would be a struggle for anyone large, sink in room as bathroom too small, lots of hot water. Quiet hotel but no sound proofing and dark curtains would be better than white as room bright as soon as sun up. But, very clean and a good base for a visit.

Location was great, close to the main train station. Breakfast was included and had a large selection of quality ingredients and also the option for freshly prepared eggs. Relaxing music was always playing in the reception and the staff were very helpful.

If you choose to stay at this hotel you’re getting the bare minimum. The location wasn’t too far from the old town which was the only perk. It was clean but there was no AC and the concierge was no help with information regarding the city. The continental breakfast was very subpar.

Great Stay
This hotel has the nicest, most helpful staff, and is located in a quiet neighborhood that is very conveniently located close to everything in Koln. It was clean and well managed, highly recommend staying here!

We booked this hotel for a trip to the Christmas markets. It's nice and centrally located, but in a quiet area. Short walk to the train station and Dom. Our room was lovely, spacious and clean. Breakfast was plentiful, staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. We'd happily stay here again should we ever return to Cologne.

Cologne Buchholz hotel.
The hotel is in a very central location but I arrived in the dark so got a taxi even though it was a short walk. As I was arriving late they put my key in a safe outside and gave me the code but I needed glasses to do this as the pad is small and my eyesight is not so good. Brilliant breakfasts with so much choice and a very attendant waitress. My room was at the front of the hotel next to the neon sign. The curtains were light so I was kept awake by the light then woken up by construction work. That is not the hotels fault. The room was very comfortable with an en suite. Great wifi. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Really close to the Cathedral. They have an elevator!! Amazing breakfast. Only issue was no air-con if that is a priority for your booking... but they had a fan. Room was on the smaller side. Different wifi for each floor level was helpful

Nice little place walking distance from train
Nice place, people were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. I still do not understand the European "double bed" is where they shove two singles together and cover it all with one sheet, but the bed(s) were comfortable. Breakfast was good. This was close to everything. I recommend this hotel to someone looking for a nice place.

Everything you could ask for..
Lovely welcome at the hotel with a free Gleuwein on arrival. Staff very knowledgeable about Cologne, the surrounding areas and what's happening during our stay. The room was lovely, main bedroom, lounge and bathroom. The room (as well as the rest of the hotel ) was very clean and well furnished. The only downside was that their wasn't a kettle in our room, but this was made up by the always full bowl of biscuits and fruit at the entrance and the buffet style continental breakfast which you could really fill your boots in. The hotel is tucked just off a main road and the banks of the Rhine, is 10 minutes walk from the train station, the centre of Cologne and a large sway of the Xmas Markets. If you like to exercise their is also a nice 5km run or walk along the banks of the Rhine, that offers some lovely views of the Cathedral and the Old Town.

We had a very nice stay in this lovely hotel. The location is excellent,being a few minutes walk from the Dom,and walking distance to at least 5 of tge 7 markets. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Convenient and Clean Hotel
The hotel is located on a quiet street with an easy 5 minute walk to the main train station and cathedral, making it an ideal location for getting to and from, but not being noisy. The room was a good size, clean and with suitable facilities and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom has a shower and no bath, with the sink in the main room rather than in the bathroom. The room was pleasant and comfortable, although not the most luxorious, but it represented good value for money and I would definitely stay there again. We visited in order to go to the Christmas markets, and it was an excellent location for that.

Lovely stay at Buchholz Downtown Hotel.
We are a family of three adults and we really enjoyed our stay at the Buchholz Downtown Hotel. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was great and the breakfast ladies were really helpful and sweet. Room for three was spacious and very clean. All attractions eg. Dome and art museums and theatre are within a short walking distance as is the main train station. The fabulous Christmas markets were also all within a short walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel and would surly stay there again if I re visit Cologne.

I only stayed at this hotel for one night, but I would definitely stay there again. Everybody who worked at the hotel and I spoke to was really friendly and helpful. The hotel was really close to the river, station and cathedral, yet really quiet. For a light sleeper this was a definite bonus. It was also a safe area for a single woman to walk around.
