Relaxing Family Holiday
Beautiful property in stunning location. I would highly recommend a stay at the library bach; unique and relaxing, I couldn't fault it. We are family of 5 (kids 7, 5 & 2) and it was perfect. The penguins coming home at night an added little bonus.

Fantastic!
A beautiful place that has been fitted out and decorated with a love for details. We found everything we needed and more. The location is perfect between beach and eastuary, close to Farewell Spit/Wharariki. The record player was a highlight. You could easily spend a week in this place and not get bored. We didn't even use any of the sports equipment on offer, just listened to music and cooked up a storm. The neighbour brought some freshly caught snapper which was a real treat. Thank you so much, Anna! This is far beyond a run-of-the-mill bach. We felt so comfortable there.

A slice of paradise
Our 2nd visit to The Library, we love the peaceful setting of the holiday house, it’s most enjoyable. We enjoy biking out to Puponga and discovering Whirinaki Beach.

The Library Beach House
A fabulous stay in a lovely beach house in a fabulous location to explore the top of the south island. Anna was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Loved the sea, lagoons and bird life that surrounded us in its many forms throughout the day.

Wonderful place for a family holiday
Well equipped and clean batch in an amazing location. Many activities nearby (the paddle and kayaks were great to enjoy the bay). Good communication. Will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful tranquil location
We had a wonderful stay in the The Library Bach. It has the perfect location. We have stayed on the ocean side of this inlet before but nothing can compare with the beauty of watching the birds and seeing the tide come in. It is a magic slowdown for tired the nervous systems of our busy world. The architecture of this small dwelling is beautiful. We had a magic holiday - and thanks for the honey.

An absolutely beautiful place to be. I honestly nearly cried when I opened the door and saw the bach with all of the windows bringing nature inside. The estuary and beach are amazing. The birdlife incredible.

Loved our stay
We were very comfortable in this lovely bach. Amazing location maximized by the large windows made for relaxing by, even when the weather wasnt great and kept cosy ny the fire. We absolutely loved it and would love to stay again.

Astounding: location, style, comfort
Idyllic pasifika bolt hole after our tramping. Loved the rhythm of the tides, the record player & collection, the decor, …. just everything. Cabinets had all the basics like oil, salt, tea & coffee. Well appointed and eclectic crockery. Awesome indoor outdoor flow. Outdoor bath under the stars was a rare treat.

Wonderful place for a relaxed gateway
It's a beautiful location close to the beach. The Bach got everything you need. The toys were a big plus for our lo. The outside tub is a great feature too. We loved our stay at this unique property. Highly recommend.

Amazing atmosphere
Such a beautiful bach and location. All 5 of us who have travelled far and wide thought it was one of the nicest baches we've stayed in. Low key but with all the comforts. Loved playing some records. Views are stunning. Host was excellent to communicate with. Great for all seasons. Highly recommend.

A weekend in paradise!
Perfect bach to relax and be fully immersed in nature with the bush, bird songs, low tides for walks and high tides for kayaking/paddleboarding. I just wish to stay more next time :-)

The Library is simpky bliss, set amongst native bush looking over the estuary with direct access to the sea. The bach is glorious, open plan with everything you need and more, like the record player, great vinyl collection, and fantastic book collection! Great memories of our stay!

An absolute MUST STAY
Everything about our weekend there was incredible! Great to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and go somewhere where its quiet, no tv, and just relaxing! Took the inlaws for their first time to NZ and they are just raving about their stay with us here. I can't recommend this place more! To have a place like this is a gift and to share it with others is even better. Anna was always reachble through the app and was lovely to deal with. We all gasped when we opened the door and our only regret was to not stay longer!! Loved it Thank you Anna

At the beach
Like entering a bach from the 60s. Like 'coming home'. Lying in bed and looking at the starry nights, and then the extended vista as dawn broke with its summoning of calls from the birds. Absolute bliss.

Nature & Art
If you are into art and nature, this batch is for you. Stunning views to the inlet from everywhere in the house due to huge windows everywhere. Our favorite spot was the bedroom. We got the impression that we actually slept outside which was interesting because it was raining heavily. The nature blends in beautifully with little pieces of art everywhere in the house. The weather was not so great when we were there (June) but we actually enjoyed to hang out in the house with cooking, reading and sitting close to the fire place.

We loved our winter stay at the bach! It was really cozy...we had the log fire burning and played lots of records. Lovely views over the eastury. A perfect spot for adventuring around the area. Communication with the host was really easy and quick. Will definately be back 😀

Love the Library!
This is the second time that we've stayed at the Library, this time in the winter, and it was just as fantastic as our summertime visit. The wood stove was a total treat. As always communication with Anna was great and check in was quick and easy. I can't wait to stay again in the future!

We went to chill out and that is what we did. No one in sight. Fantastic views. Went for swims at Farewell Spit, tramped up mt knuckle, drive Whanganui Inlet. A full week just to RnR was fantastic. Excellent accom that had everythg we needed

Enthralling Getaway
Tucked away in bush and native trees, the bach is right on the estuary and close to the beach. The estuary teems with life from ducks and herons to flounder and crabs. We were never bored and the outdoor bath was a complete treasure. Had a wonderful time and would recommend to others.

Another Wonderful Stay
Another wonderful stay, host Anna was allowed us option of changing dates (last minute emergency) which was appreciated. Rained the first day we read, listened to music, watched the tide come in, walked along the beach and saw little blue penguins in the yard by the library. 5 day stay, weather was better than predicted which seems to be the norm for Golden Bay, lots of interesting walks in the area, no crowds. We have stayed before and knew the kitchen was fully equipped, fully size fridge and stove made it easy to cook meals for 5 days. Favourite part of the holiday lazy mornings, returning mid afternoon to relax and read before dinner, lying in bed watching the tide come in, wine. You know the accommodation is good when you look forward to going back, thanks Anna.

Lovely, well cared for place to unwind
Our second stay here and needless to say it was excellent. Really well thought out and well cared for place with everything you need! A really peaceful spot. We've been visiting Totara Ave for 12 years and it's a favourite part of the Bay for us. We had to change our plans very last minute and Anna was incredibly accommodating and easy to communicate with. Already planning our next visit. Note that tide won't come into the inlet unless it's a really high tide so plan accordingly or enjoy some low tide strolls.
