Rubber mat in shower area needs to be thrown out, it is black with mold & mildew. Coffee trays won't fit coffee maker. Reported it to front desk who told me they would replace it. He also blamed a " guest" who probably swapped out the coffee maker, yea right. Came back in evening for 2nd night stay same old coffee maker. Also coffee maker needs to be relocated, it is so high you can't see what you're doing when pouring water into it plus if you spill the water it ends up on the microwave below it. Not a safe situation. I won't be back.

We were met that evening by a sweet older lady who welcomed us kindly and was able to get us checked in (having had a reservation) in no time at all. A comfy smaller room. We had reserved a single queen size bed, but it was a full size, but we slept well and close together like we did when we were first married 40 years ago LOL The next morning breakfast was fantastic with lots of options. We got to sleep till about 9:00 because checkout isn't until noon (we really liked that) As we stepped out into the brilliant sunlight after breakfast I noted that the landscaping around the building seemed a bit unkempt, but it's early spring yet in northern Iowa so they may just not have been able to get to it yet. The buy behind the desk in the morning was cordial and friendly also. We will definitely be back there if ever we need a motel again in the area! In fact this may be as soon as next month as we are headed for a nieces wedding in Nebraska. We're from Wisconsin. This time we had been to Kansas to a sister-in-law's funeral.

The room itself was fine, small but had everything we needed. A little worn but clean. Water damage in the bathroom was slightly concerning but for a one night stay it was what we needed.

Quiet stay with dog
I ended up with a really good dog friendly room here at microtel. I was actually in a accessible room, which is right near the exit door which was perfect for walking my dog. Overall, the hotel was quiet and that meant I got a good night's sleep, and my dog wasn't irritable about noises. That's usually the biggest problem for me. The only issue with my room was that the fan in the bathroom was incredibly loud, but that's not really a bother in the end. This area has rates that are slightly higher than perhaps you might want to pay, but it's also in the middle of a long gap in towns so it worked fine.

Service could be alittle more helpful. Internet and TV was intermittent, printer at the front for customer use was out of ink. Breakfast would end at 0930 when suppose to stay open until 1000. There was Marijuana use in hotel, told mgt. They said they would spray deodorizer.

Very small rooms, no microwaves, lights flicker, the TV reception is horrible. I intended on watching the NFL playoffs but their provider didn’t carry NBC?? Breakfast is very minimal with no eggs or meat. The only bright side of this property was the kind employee at the reception desk.

First off had trouble with the key cards to get into the room. Tried three different sets of key cards. I was moved to a second room with the same results. Finally after about 45 minutes I was put in a room where the keycard worked. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows as well

This is the second time saying here overnight. The staff is always friendly and helpful and my kids love the option to sleep on the window sill bed! The property is a little old but in good shape. Breakfast is not great

Toilet not attached well to the floor. I sat on it in the middle of the night and it made a huge noise and woke people up. I thought I was going to fall; scented soap used on sheets. It bothered my allergies somewhat.; tv was glichy. It kept pausing. On the positive side: they originally sent us to a room with used sheets. (I understand how it could happen.) When I called the front desk to have it remedied, the manager walked upstairs to give us keys to another room and stayed to make certain we were happy. Great front desk service! I would definitely stay here again though.
