Excellent staff, great pick up and drop off service. Rubbish truck emptying bin at 3.30am under our window was not nice.

The room was a great size. How ever two windows had broken latches, one wouldnt even shut and the door safety chain was broken. The bed needs relacing as you can see the groves where people lie. How ever the staff were very friendly and helpful

The room was tired looking - mouldy curtains, curtains not hung properly, ranchslider tracks very dirty as well. Shower curtain not big enough and bathroom covered in water after a shower.

Perfect for going to Arena. Bathroom heater not going, light bulbs not going, hand wash nearly empty and fire evacuation not legible. However suited our needs and warm. Road moise quite audible if an issue

I didn't like the fact that I booked my stay through WOTIF. THEY mucked up my book in dates, which I'd already paid for and what an ordeal trying UNSUCSESSFULLY, to change the booking! I turned up to Arena and the staff were lovely BUT I had to pay again at the Motel for my stay that night. Absolutely hopeless for the Manager trying by phone, to get hold of WOTIF OR EXPEDIA (who took over this CRAP booking agency). We were cut off after a lengthy wait. Please note this phone number is not available to Joe Public, only the Motel Managers.... My actual stay was very pleasant and next time I would book, by ringing the Arena Motel directly, for my stay.

A filthy room with no refund given
I checked into was unfortunately a quite dirty room. I have taken photos and attached most of the ones I took. More than happy if it’s a dirty towel to ask for a new one but this was the pillows, duvet, shower, microwave, cutlery, lipstick on glasses and I think what appeared to be mold in the corners of the bathroom, I did use the toilet once, with the small amount of toilet paper that was left on the roll and turned the shower on and off again but did not use any of the facilities. No staff were available to raise concerns with so I checked into a new motel. When contacted the next morning to explain situation and request a refund, I was countered with an offer to change rooms (subject to availability and no guarantee that the next room would be any cleaner) and a breakfast. I explained that the shift to a cleaner, more suitable accommodation was already done, but they still refused. They also explained that due to staff sickness, and the age of the facilities, that it was not unsurprising that the room was not as clean as it should be. However, the state of mould in the room indicates the room has not been properly cleaned in a long time. Save your money and health - find somewhere else.

After reconsidering this case where we have offered room change and free breakfast to guests unfortunately, refund is not possible at this time.pls note: Guest left the room without informing about complaints to onsite Manager, whereas, our phone and emails monitored 24 hrs for emergencies. We would have sorted the issue on the spot if we were informed the same night rather than leaving the property and being informed in the next morning.Feel free to contact me if you have further questions or concerns.

Great Motel &Hostess
Great Hostess welcoming, friendly and helpful. Perfect location for Lincoln street - shops, takeaways and pubs - we enjoyed the evening meals at Woodstock bar and eatery. Going on the Coastal pacific or trans alpine trains just ask and the hostess will arrange to take you to the station. Wanting to go into Christchurch pick up the bus on lincoln rd $2.10 per person return within 2hrs over 2hrs in city pay again. You can get an all day bus pass for$5 which you can use on all buses!
