Alcala Motels were lovely and tidy and comfortable and very clean. The owner was really welcoming and friendly. We would be happy to come back and stay again.

The staff are super friendly and the location and amenities are great. The showers are high pressure. The rooms have a microwave. Love staying here. Highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. The rooms are a great size, very comfortable. Friendly, welcoming staff as well. Very handy to eateries and supermarket. Would definitely stay here again, without a doubt! ❤️

Quiet motel
Warm modern room good water pressure in the shower free parking free wifi for up to 2 devices. Comfortable bed. No extractor fan in the bathroom light switch in lounge hidden behind curtain by entrance door.

City a good 20 minute walk from Motel which was OK for us. On a noisy road but I guess being a motel you have to expect it.

Dear guest, we are sorry you were not happy with the room. We understand some part of the room requires modernisation. However as a business owner only the things we can do are very minimum. Lovely clean, well maintained apartment. Home from home. Great hosts. About 20 minute walk into the city centre. Lovely cafe and local shops 2 minute walk from the apartments.only wish we had of stayed in Christchurch longer.

Awesome
We loved this motel, spacious and comfortable. Great beds and furnishings. Quiet and walking distance to town. Owners very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Lovely Motel
This motel is an older motel, but the rooms are well appointed and have been renovated recently so are extremely comfortable with plenty of space, access to netflix an advantage

Roomy and clean
Nice unit on ground floor, three of us stayed,was spacious and comfortable. Downfall was the cold shower in the morning as the unit shared the hot water tank with the upstairs unit. The tank was in the bedroom I was sleeping in and became very noisy from 7am as the occupants of the above unit (a family) started their showering, then no hot water for us.

Dear Guest, I am sorry you didn't have a good stay with us. The sharing of HWC is the design of the building which we cannot change at all. It is at sole discretion of Landlord, who is very reluctant to either add another HWC or change it to gas heated. To eliminate the annoyance we have placed notice on both units indicating the time frame of each shower and importance of shower intervals. However there are always guest who ignore what we pointed out. I apologise for what has happened. Kind regards Yuting/Manager

Nice hotel , close to eating places.
Modern , spacious, well equipped, warm in winter time, close to the eating places and supermarket. We were staying just for a short time before our flight home. Room was spacious and it was great for lots of packing after our trip to NZ. We left hotel at 4am heading the airport , there is a drop box for the keys. There is gas station 24/7 on the way, just 1 min drive, where you also could buy a sandwich. ..

Chinese owner, very friendly , quite spacious, not super clean but fine. Some ants appear on the first day at the kitchen area, but nothing's greatly bothered.

This was the second time we stayed at Alcala Motor Lodge, and again we were very happy with the friendly service we received. We were actually put into one of their two bedroom apartment studios, at the same rate as the smaller single room we'd earlier booked, because people using that room had extended their stay, so that was a very pleasant surprise for us. We were very happy to be shown to our rooms by the owner when we first arrived, plus when we'd come back late one evening, they had turned on the heating and lights for us, which was a welcoming and kind thought. Fresh towels were delivered each day, coffee and tea supplies replenished, plus we were asked if we needed our apartment cleaned. The beds were very comfortable, and we loved the spa bath - a real treat!

Room 10 with the spa bath - Great ,close to town
2nd time I have stayd here,this time I was fortunate to be able to book the room with jetted spa bath..Lovely big spacious room,awesome big spa bath,speapate kitchen..Very clean and staff are lovely.Highly recommend The office lady was very accommodating when I was having problem with my wifi,she was on it asap :)

Great 2 night stay, friendly staff,very comfotable bed, close local shops.Even though we didn't have a car easy to catch public transport, about 15-20min walk to center city.definately stay again.Only negative thing was bathroom dated but owner informed us that they plan to renovate shortly.
