Chair in bedroom dirty, shower was cold, mentioned to reception and wasn’t fixed as promised. Had to be looked at my the night staff.
Needed to speak to a person nicely present in the hotel whilst we were out and not present and could not get through to speak to someone, kept being put through to a call centre and being cut off.
A four day break for us. Loved Chester and the hotel was excellent. Free on site parking and walking distance to the City. Staff and breakfasts very good.
The hotel is great and a 10 minute walk to Chester city centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and all clean and tidy. Just one criticism, if you have a king size duvet cover on the bed have a king size duvet in it not a double one, kept moving about inside the cover.
I can’t fault this hotel for location, parking and staff etc. but when you have a load of youths who think it’s acceptable to treat the hotel and other guests who like me have work the next day to treat it like a stay in Ibiza on a Monday night wasn’t great. The hotel did have a word and they finally by 12am was quite again!!!
The breakfast has a lot a variety but the hot breakfast I mean the sausages are not that nice. But everything else is great.
Lovely staff especially Angela on front desk at The Chester Racecourse Hotel. Breakfast excellent and great value. Rooms had Netflix which was a nice touch. Bed was comfortable. Adequate for an overnight stay. Very convenient location. Would definitely stay there in future.

Perfect location, easy walking distance & parking available on site. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and gave us plenty of information about the property.
Only problems were the rooms could have been a bit cleaner. Stained carpets, unhoovered floor & underwear between the beds from the previous guests. The next door neighbours were uo very late having loud sex which woke us up,however we understand this can happen anywhere.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Convenient for Chester itself.
Our room was small but nowhere to put items, no drawers or proper wardrobe,
Our room was very dusty around the bed. The room was warm so heeded the window open slightly but there was a lot of noise and banging outside at all hours during the night.
Fantastic value stay. Warm comfortable room. Extremely helpful young lady on reception. Great breakfast. Free hot drinks and free car parking. What's not to like.
A great central location and the staff could not be more helpful

First time staying at this hotel in Chester and very easy to park with onsite parking.
Very quick check in.
Very clean.
Breakfast lots of options but the cooked options wasn’t up to standard for me.
Thought the rooms were very clean and the cleaner in the morning was very helpful. I really liked our stay and the location was perfect.
In terms of breakfast it was all hot and plenty of choice. Bread was lovely. Fruit fresh. Unfortunately eggs were undercooked and sausages cremated (I know there can be kitchen mishaps but that batch should have been binned and started again!), however, it didn’t spoil my overall experience. Free hots drinks 24hr was a lovely touch and well appreciated.

The stay was really good the breakfast could of been better it was the cooked food abit dried up but the granola and yoghurt was lovely
Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Plenty of food for breakfast. Only downside was noisy from outside the hotel at night (sounded like a heater or motor running)
Great reception with advice for an evening meal at a nearby pub. Hotel well sited near the heart of Chester, it was pretty full but staff were busy cleaning and replacing buffet food when necessary.
My only complaint was that in room 320 the road noise was very annoying even with the window closed, the problem seemed to be with the vent above the window which could not be fully closed. Unfortunately my wife did not feel well so we decided not to ask for a different room (not sure if one was available)
I reported the issue in the morning and was told to ask for a room on the other side of the hotel ! But then told she would look into it.
Great stay in Holiday Inn Chester, staff very friendly, room clean and comfortable, close to centre.
Inclusive breakfast varied and enjoyable,
Only complaint was the Mrs snoring and farting all night, other than that a splendid stay. Would definitely recommend.
