This was the first and only time that a Hilton property has refused to acknowledge my diamond member status because I booked the room via Hotels.com. We were treated like we were absolutely nobody. Why? Theu said it's because of the new relationship with Expedia. I can see this has become a major disadvantage. Since virtually nothing is accrued from H.com bookings and you get treated like you are unimportant, regardless of how many 10's of thousands spent, I see no reason to use Hilton or Hotels.com anymore. The room had old toenails in the bathroom corners and the heater didn't work (just blew cold air all night). But I'm m still shocked that Diamond meant absolutely nothing to them. Unbelievable.
