Lovely autumn holiday in Sicily
Globetrotter has an excellent location surrounded by lovely bars and restaurants. You can easily walk to the main sights, it is right in the centre of town. We were supposed to stay two nights but extended our stay with four as the staff were friendly and helpful and we just loved the location. We got value for money. I'd stay here again.

The staff were helpful and friendly, wxplaining all the necessary criteria. A handy shuttle service on request from the airport. The room was clean and had all that I required, even a mosquito net over the bed (which is needed in september).

Smack in the middle of town
The B&B is well situated to the Duomo in a animated and lively area. At night it gets rather noisy with all the restaurants and life bands. So if you expect a quiet area, this is not it. The bed is comfortable. The B&B could make some progress on cleanliness. Lovely and very helpful staff.

Great location for exploring Catania and Mt. Etna. Close to the fish market, restaurants, bars, the Duomo, and many other sites. 20 minute walk to a public beach. Since the B&B is in a great location it can be noisy at night with all the activity in the neighborhood. Assistance good advice available for scheduling excursions. A dependable driver is available as an option for getting to the airport. It's a short walk from the bus stop if taking the bus from the airport.

Property was centrally located. Owner was very nice and arranged pick up late at night and his brother. Things that were disappointing was that there was no breakfast in bed in breakfast even though I have asked about it prior to check in. I was told you have to pay 2 euro per person. When arrived I was told no breakfast. Property itself was roomy but not many amenities. Also, little moldy setting my son into and asthma. Also, little noisy.

Hi, thank you for your review, however in our b & b There is breakfast. It's not included in the price to give our guest the opportunity to chose. But you can book it in your reservation or when you arrive, you need just to tell us. We prepare the table the night before so that guest can have breakfast whenever they want, they can eat everything they find in the fridge, use the whole kitchen and Make their own coffee, toast, eggs and so on.

Avoid staying in room 12
We stayed in room 12 and it was awful. The bedroom was underground and had a terrible musty, moldy smell. The shower was so small and cramped with no room to move. The couch in the kitchen area was also dirty with stains. Avoid this room. Also, there is no breakfast provided even though they are calling themselves a B&B.

Great location for city centre and value eateries.
Well located, this bed and breakfast offers a good location to visit the city. The room was comfortable and breakfast adequate. All at a very good price.

Lovely room, and good location. We arrived late so a key was left for us in a security box. Reception did not open until after we left which days inconvenient but not a major issue.

An Interesting View of Life in Catania
Daniela was a delight host. Because we were staying for 3 nights he offered us a studio apartment a block away from the Globetrotter. Although the studio was very nice, it is situated on a busy square with music playing all day and night (it was good music).. there were several restaurants adding to the noise. While our stay was a delightful slice of life in Sicily, it was far from quiet and restful. Please note that there are stairs, so heavy luggage could be an issue.

Nice hotel in amazing location
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Thank you Julia and Julian for letting us leave our luggage after check out. The hotel has a nice and relaxed atmosphre, with a good room and private bathroom, the kitchen downstairs is very convient. We had a great time staying at the hotel and visiting Catania.

Almost perfect except for no hot water!
Almost perfect. Rooms were clean and modern but bed and pillows need to be more comfortable and HOT water needs to be available. Both days and nights we had no hot water if it wasn't for the great location,modern clean rooms for an amazing price the hot water would have been a deal breaker! Please do something about it!

Unfortunately the customer didn't pay attention to our words because we explained that in the bathroom there is a button for hot water you must be always on next to the mirror light button so the switched off both and they never told us so I'm sorry for the inconvenient , but we do have hot water and it's in every room with an electric boiler

Had its own charm
The bedroom made me chuckle(a bit sexy?), wasn't sure about the decor but the living space was great. Nice staff and near the centre so ideal stop off spot and if you stay more than one night you can make use of the local markets and cook up some good food. There are some great mount etna wines to be had too. I guess the space is trad in architecture, the ceiling and structural layout is great.

Hard to park but good room.
We had a very nice stay here. We didn't find the hotel difficult to find at all but parking was difficult. There was free street parking but we weren't comfortable with that. The paid lot they use that is close in proximity was full so we had to use a different lot that was a bit of a walk. With a preschooler late at night after sightseeing all day it was really a chore walking back. Lots of places to eat and see around the hotel and we really liked that about it. The room was clean and nice and fit our needs. My only other minor complaint was that there was a lot of noise outside our bedroom window the first night. We could basically hear everything.

hi, thank you for your positive review. Unfortunately parking lots cannot be booked in advance but we always do our best to help our guests find another option. We apologise for the noise but it not our fault, there were some loud people that passed-by that night.

A wonderful experience at Globetrotter! Great communication from the moment of the reservation -- directions and late arrival instructions were very clear. Location can be a bit tricky if you don't have a map, so I would google-map it before you arrive, especially if it is after dark, as it can be difficult to see the street names if you are not familiar with the city. Located behind Piazza Duomo, near the Catania fish market. The area immediately around the hotel seems a bit dodgy at first, but it is Catania! We felt very safe nonetheless. Our room was not huge, but a comfortable size for 2 people. Very clean, which is most important. Great Wifi and flat screen TV with lots of channels. Very happy it had a small bar fridge to keep food and drinks cool. Breakfast was satisfying and had a bit of variety on each of our 4 mornings. Small but comfortable common area to sit in. Narrow stairs up to the room (no elevator) but this was not a problem for us.

Great Place - terrible roads
Once I finally found the place, tucked away in a back alley after 30 minutes of driving, it was nice. Parking was nearly impossible to find, I had to park almost 1 km away. Once I got in, the toilet was plugged in our room, but we told the staff and they fixed it with no problem. Passable command of English among the staff. I'd recommend it, but not if you have a vehicle!

Nice B&B. Great location. Reasonably priced
The B&B seemed busy with lots of people checking in but they were super friendly and took lots of time to explain to us the best places to eat and visit in the city. We did not stay at the B&B itself but they gave us an apartment across the street which suited us fine but meant we had no wifi (although they said we were welcome to come across to the main site and log on from there). The apartment itself was on the second floor (with no lift) and was very central. It was a single room with a double bed, sofa bed, table, small kitchenette and balconies. The bathroom was large with a shower, toilet and bidet and some towels were provided. It was all very clean, if a little tired and had everything we needed. The only down side for us turned out to be the location - the apartment was very central and next door to a bar who had a live band playing into the night. This would be good if you were joining in the night life but was not so great for us with two young ones. You can't hold it against the apartment but just so you are warned! In the morning, we dropped our bags off at the B&B and were offered a great breakfast with bread, fruit, juice, cakes and coffee. The breakfast was around a large table which gave us a chance to chat to other travellers and compare notes about the various places we had visited. The B&B had organised an Etna tour for us which was fantastic

Good value for money. Our room better equipped than room in Rome costing more than twice as much. However, glasses in bathroom were lacking. Staff most obliging, pleasant and capable. Breakfast starch and sugar-heavy but fair at the price.

Good choice to stay in Catania
Great location, right in the center and near all tourist attractions. The room was big, with air conditioning, wi-fi, tv and dvd player and a very comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Really nice breakfast too!

Simpaticissimo!
Globetrotter B&B is good value in a good central position with friendly service. The appendix in a 1930s Mussolini style appartment block just opposite the Castello Ursino is interesting but ought to be more economical than the main building. Otherwise happy and content!

Spectacular B&B!
We stayed at the B&B Globetrotter during our weekend trip to Catania, Sicily. The B&B was located within walking distance from the bus and train station, and was close to all of the best restaurants, shopping, and sights that Catania has to offer. Sofia was incredibly sweet, helpful and so accommodating to make our visit perfect. The customer service at Globetrotter was above and beyond and I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for an authentic stay while visiting Catania.

Good value for money. Forget about breakfast. the hotel is more of a guest house and is well kept it is small and similar to Amsterdam type hotels with its staircase. First impression was 'oh no' but it is okay.

Pour notre première nuit à Catane, ce logement était parfait quant à sa situation géographique. Situé près du marché aux poissons, au coeur de la vieille ville, à 10minutes à pied des arrêts de bus Dusmet (idéal pour rejoindre l'aéroport et la gare ferroviaire). Le confort de la chambre était suffisant pour une nuit. Cabine de douche très étroite.

Ma nuitée a été réparatrice après mon vol depuis Paris. L’accueil a l’hôtel à été agreable, une aide m’a été apportée afin de rejoindre facilement milazzo le lendemain. L’hôtel est situé ds un quartier animé, avec de nombreux restaurants. Un marché à proximité immédiate de l’hôtel propose des produits de la mer, légumes,..., et on est immergé ds une ambiance chaleureuse. La chambre est suffisamment équipée pour y passer une bonne nuit, Clim, télé, salle d’eau privée, ce n’est pas luxueux mais tout à fait satisfaisant. Au besoin, jy retournerai volontiers.

Discreto pernottamento
Discreto pernottamento considerando la piccola struttura posta a pochi passi dal centro di Catania, peccato che la stanza presa da me e la mia ragazza risultasse con qualche difetto estetico a livello di mobilia, e peccato anche il fatto di aver trovato un pezzo di doccia rotto la mattina seguente al pernottamento facendo uso del tubo doccia per lavarci, Dimenticandoci di riferirlo al receptionist perchè troppo presi dalla preparazione di ripartenza. in struttura hanno dato colpa a noi pur avendolo trovato già cosi. (Non so se fosse fatto apposta o meno) ma, è dispiaciuto a noi che daltronde per una notte abbiamo dormito discretamente bene.

Gentile Daniele, innanzitutto noi non l'abbiamo accusata proprio di nulla: è stato rilevato un danno dopo la vostra partenza e come prassi vi abbiamo chiesto se potevate darci dei chiarimenti. Poi figurarsi se ci attacchiamo a una cornetta doccia danneggiata che si trova a 2€ in qualsiasi ferramenta. Se voi invece siete prevenuti basta che vi fanno notare qualcosa è un altro discorso. Sta di fatto che eravate a conoscenza della cosa e non avete detto nulla, quindi è giusto che vi abbiamo chiesto delucidazioni a riguardo. Un po' di umiltà nella vita fa sempre bene, fatto salvo che vi ringraziamo per gli aspetti positivi emersi dal vostro giudizio.
