"I was so disappointed & disgusted; decided to rather drive 90 miles home to sleep & lose the non-refundable money The reception was dismissive & cold The Wifi access only granted if I revealed my phone # & email address by joining Hilton’s membership of some kind. The room’s atmosphere, at best grimey, with it’s old ugly furniture all painted black to disguise the age & cleanliness. Parking inside the hotel was very expensive & judging by the warn signs: also unsafe."

"This is a beautiful place to stay across the bay from San Francisco. The hotel is well maintained and had a great staff. I would recommend pay for the parking. Where you could park for free there are restrictions. Easy access to highways for heading north to Napa or the Redwoods, south to Oakland or back across the bay to San Francisco."

Chancellor Hotel on Union Square

"The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The only issue I had with the room is that the bathroom mirror is so old, some of the silver backing is showing through. The beds were very comfortable. Alicia at the bar was also great helping me come up with ideas to spend the last day in SF with my daughter."

Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf

"Definitely not like the photos. Older building, they put us in the back down a dingy hall. It made us feel like we were part of the maid’s quarters. View out our window was the bus stop & homeless. Not the worst hotel but for almost $300 after crazy taxes/fees it was overpriced. The only thing that was exceptional was the breakfast! Soooo good. Also I forgot my toothbrush & razor they did not have complementary ones, I had to pay $15 :("
