Fantastic location
A traditional kiwi bach literally across the road from the beach, giving us easy access to all that Castlepoint has to offer. We had a great long weekend here.

The sea at your doorstep
We love this place. Bright, light, and sunny, the best thing about it is the sea at the doorstep. You hear the waves at night, see them first thing when you get up, and then walk just a few steps over the road to plunge into them for a swim. The bach is warm too with a really efficient log burner so we were cosy at night. This is our go to place for a few days of real refreshment and pleasure. The sea, the rocks, the hills for climbing, spectacular views from so many angles. It’s a winner.

Beach delight
Perfect spot in the world, across the road from the beach, lots of walking if you wanted to. This is very much an old kiwi bach, very warm and cosy with the fire lite on a cool autumn days. Note bring all consumables, hand soap, tea, coffee etc. Don't forget hand towels and bath matt, toilet paper, paper towels etc.

Great spot but rental is poor in condition
A getaway for an occasion that did not go well. Whilst the location was what we wished on the beach front and close to things things went down hill The agent for the home was very accommodating in trying to fix things but cut holiday short after the rat. On arrival multiple mice seen and in things in cupboard toaster and plates. Unit manager bought new items and wiped surfaces. Proceeded to catch more mice through stay. Not a fan of such things. Then traps went missing and found under the cupboard with a bigger variety running away. The furniture outside is rotten and broken the seat is by door and catch leg on rotten board Shower not draining well floods around feet Quiet hard to get in and out of with limited mobility and the step against toilet on angle Understanding a bach but needs work to rent out to ensure a nice stay. Overall not recommending this place. Whilst re received a $50.00 refund the night we arrived for the mice we had a ruined holiday after the rat we left

Traditional style kiwi bach, still under refurb. Living area beaut, beds okay. BYO toilet paper is an unprecedented request! Great area to explore and enjoy ... walking, swimming, relaxed locals, including gulls and seal. Would hire this cottage again. Thanks to owners for 'sharing' it.

Dream location
The sea is just outside the front door - and if you don’t feel like swimming in it (recommended) the windows and French doors of the bright sitting room at Crayfish cove mean you can look at it all day. Beautiful spot, wonderful scenery, can’t imagine a better place to unwind and feel refreshed. Wonderful. Thank you very much.

Amazing location
Gorgeous little bach - the location was perfect. Waking up to the beach view was lovely. Close enough to the shop so the kids could walk down and we could see them the whole way. Loved our few days stay - hope to be back soon!

Lovely stay
We were blown away with the location and the view from the lounge/kitchen. Great for a family getaway. Had the fire going on a cold night and it quickly heated up the place. Couldn't recommend it more! Thank you ☺️

Cute seaside cottage in need of a clean!!
Very cute little cottage in a perfect location. Has very limited kitchen equipment a lot of it is dirty broken or damaged. The property is very dirty and needs a full clean. For the price it’s ok but absolutely filthy. Great location just across the road from the beach which makes up for how dirty the place is.

This is our third time staying here, and no doubt we will come again. Cant beat the location. if you are wanting to hang out with friends or family, the front room is more spacious than it looks, and has the best paramedic view. They have put new french doors in the front that improves the use of the bach immensely.

Great location but needs some love
Location is primo. It’s also great value for money for the amount of people who can sleep. It’s generally clean enough but is a bit sticky and run down in areas. Could do with someone going in and giving it some love and a proper clean out and scrub down. Lots of potential. It’s deffo classic basic batch which is fine and like I said for money and location if you’re maxing out occupants it’s a steal.

Lovely traditional bach in gorgeous location. Warm and cosy despite cold rainy weather with views to enjoy whatever the weather. Very responsive helpful owners ensuring our needs met. Our only request would be for an oven glove for us more clumsy bakers and maybe some salt and pepper as staples on site! Lovely holiday

Lovely basic Bach - cosy and clean with an excellent fire. We loved staying for the 2 nights - the location is primo! Just remember to take everything you need if cooking - there are no pantry items...we forgot the pepper and salt - not that it mattered at all!! Highly recommend!

Perfect Beach Bach
Loved this place….views to die for, looking directly out at the sea and up to the lighthouse which put on a spectacular display at night. The Bach is just as described and just that…a real dinkum beach Bach with mismatched crockery, cutlery and furniture but this makes the place what it is. Such a warm comfy bed. Games to play and books to read. The fireplace is a bonus and quickly warms the whole place. We will be back most definitely.

We loved saying here. The location to the beach was amazing, and we got to see beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The facilities were great, and we had everything we needed for our three night stay. The only negative was the dust, but honestly that’s to be expected when staying in a typical beach bach. Highly recommend for families. Sue and Craig were great with communication
