This is a beautiful hotel. Set away from the hub bib of Capri Town it is a real oasis of calm with excellent service. All the staff will do everything to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. Special thanks to Luigi who provided an excellent during our stay.

While Capri can be pretty busy and touristy, we liked Orsa Maggiore for its slightly more secluded location (but still easily walkable to town of Anacapri), and its views out over the sea far below. The service was excellent--anything needed arranged including especially transport; good food (breakfast and lunch; no dinners served, but those all arranged with transport too at great places by the staff). Service and facilities well above and beyond what might expect at a small (14 rooms) place. We highly recommend! (side note: the staff figured out from my passport that it was my birthday when we arrived and produced (at no charge!) cake and champagne after we checked in!)

One of the most spectacular places I’ve ever been to. Everything was perfect: the free shuttle (private driver) to and from the port, the calm and quiet of the property (even on a very touristy island,) the cleanliness, breakfast, service, & pool… honestly, just book it. I went with my mother and we both actually teared up a little when we left. I wish I were joking but it’s true.

This is a very beautiful property but location is not that good, they recommend to walk to downtown of Ana cafri, not easy walking distance.

Dear Mr Yeonju, thank you for having visisted us . We regret about your opinion concerning the distance of the hotel to the center. We are located 10 minutes walking far from walking area, howewer we offer a free shuttle service from 9:30am to 8:30pm , giving priority to arrivale sand departures. This service must be reserved with the concierge. Probably since you arrived very early in the morning, you did not find the room ready ( our check in is at 3pm) and in that exact momnt our shuttle was not available to drive you up to Anacapri center. You could wait the first availability of it......Hope to welcome you back soon kind regards

I wonderful boutique hotel. Only 14 rooms, which is perfect and the staff are very attentive. The pool is nice and the views are beautiful. Each room has a private terrace, which is lovely. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast (included) and also offers lunch, but you’re on your own for dinner. Finding nice dinner options in AnaCapri is easy and fun. The Wi-Fi and smart TV worked well. Make sure to see Villa San Michele and also take the chair lift to Monte Solaro — both nice walks from the hotel.

Gorgeous grounds and a very pleasant pool area with views to the sea. The staff was very friendly and always available. Only a 15-minute walk to the village center with many shopping and dining options. Anacapri is not as crowded as Capri, which makes it very enjoyable. Nothing really worth complaining about. Overall, a superb place to stay on the island.

Fantastic hotel , the property is in a really picturesque spot in Anacapri. Walking distance in to Anacapri centre and a really useful shuttle to Capri and the ferry port. The staff were excellent and the pool was a great place to relax! Would 100% recommend

Great for a couples getaway
We stayed at Orsa Maggiore for 3 nights as a couple on a romantic holiday. The hotel is well situated, a 12-minute walk from Anacapri. Already prior to checking in we were impressed, as the hotel provides a free chauffeur service from the Capri harbour. The staff were very attentive and fluent in English. The room was large, sunny, spacious with a lovely bathroom and great toiletries. The hotel also has a swimming pool with a poolside bar, and a nice, light lunch can also be had. Overall, I would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to spend their holiday in Capri, who is also looking for perhaps staying a bit away from the huge crowds of Capri proper.

Lovely Stay with Top Service
Orsa Maggiore is an amazing gem just outside of Anacapri. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would definitely return! A big reason the stay was so great was the friendly and attentive staff, and service they provided. From the lovely conversations how our day was or offering tips and service with the free shuttle to go around the island -- they made our stay that much more comfortable and hassle free. The location was exactly what we were looking for! About a 10-15 minute walk into Anacapri centre, it was easy to walk in for shops, restaurants, or to explore; however, whilst also enabling us to be outside of town overlooking the sea. The best of both worlds. Thank you again for lovely stay!

The place was beautiful and very peaceful, just off the beaten path. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with coordinating spa services and shuttles around the island, even airport transportation for a last minute guest. Plan a few hours (or a whole day :) ) just to sit by the pool!

Pretty hotel with lovely views
The hotel is a very peaceful place with lovely planting and decoration. Our room was very clean and had a sea view and terrace. The pool area was lovely and never got too busy during our stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel is a little walk from restaurants and shops but you can walk it in about 15mins. Would be helpful if the hotel offered evening meals.

peaceful part of Anacapri, with its own pool
We loved this hotel. You always feel at home when arriving, especially after all the hustle and bustle at Capri. It’s in a peaceful location in Anacapri and they offer a personal taxi service if booked with a little notice. Davide was always there to help with anything we needed. There are many beautiful hotels in Capri and many are also cheaper, but I would not hesitate to come back to this one as it is well worth it.

Anacapri wins
The location was perfect and very quiet. A short walk into downtown Anacapri where there are plenty of great places to eat. We were so happy we decided to pass on Capri and stay here. It has a much more intimate and local feel. Everything about the hotel was great except the desk staff was not very friendly. They acted bothered by every request and each smile seemed forced. Other than them, the place is great.

We had a lovely 5 night stay, excellent staff very friendly and always happy to help. We made excellent use of the free shuttle hotel puts on for guests. Would highly recommend for a relaxing quite trip.

CAPRI PARADISE
This hotel is perfectly located if you want to avoid the Capri Town crowds. The town of Anacapri is on the west side of the Island, meaning you get amazing sunsets from the rooms. We were welcomed with a Capri Spritz which has an amazing turquoise color, tastes delicious and makes you feel on holiday right away. There is a wonderful pool with bar and showers. The staff is super friendly, we got upgraded to a sea view room, and they pick you up and drop you at the port of Marina Grande at your arrival. The driver even dropped us in town at the motorcycle rental place. Breakfast is delicious. We would have stayed longer had we known how great this hotel was. Thank you all !

Brilliant Hotel
Me and my wife spent a week at the Orsa Maggiore September this year and it was absolutely brilliant. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to help guests get around the Island which is particularly useful given the hotel is situated in Anacapri. Without the shuttle you would be left with expensive taxi's or crowded buses so it's a nice touch that the hotel does not need to offer. The hotel itself is an excellent standard and only has 14 rooms which makes it lovely for a private getaway. The staff themselves are very friendly and seemed to know all guests at the hotel and the rooms they were in - which was very useful when ordering drinks and food at the pool. Drinks themselves were around 10 Euro a cocktail which, although isn't cheap per se, is very good value considering the quality. Wine and beer was reasonably priced as was the food. The rooms were very clean and extremely spacious. Ours came with a private terrace with great views of the Sea. Sky TV was also available, in English, for those that are interested. Breakfast is included and is the usual continental style breakfast although this is definitely one of the better selections we've had available to us. All in all I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who wished to stay in Anacapri - which we ourselves would recommend over Capri as it feels more traditional and less crowded.

Fabulous hotel to recharge and unwind
We could not recommend this hotel highly enough, absolutely first class in every way. The staff were absolutely fantastic, the hotel fabulous, so peaceful and relaxing, but only a 10 min walk to anacapri or a couple of minutes via free shuttle service. The pool and view were to die for. We can't wait to return.

Fantastic Hotel, breathtaking views
Since the pick up at the port by the shuttle free service and very friendly Dimitri until the checkout, it was a very gratifying experience. The front desk staff, the complimentary welcome drink, the impecable and superb taste of the decoration of the whole hotel and specially the cleaness of the room, made the stay at Anacapri an unforgetable one. Beautiful property in the cliffs of Anacapri
Beautiful property about 8 minute walk from Anacapri center. Hotel will provide transfer from the port to the property and back. Rooms are the largest we experiences in Italy with the best shower! Details are carefully thought through and it shows. Staff is friendly and knows everyone who is staying in the small property. They are happy to assist and provide shuttle, directions, recommendations, etc. Breakfast was delightful. Pool was great for watching the sun set.

Lovely hotel with a few rooms on the property. It's a great location if you're looking for ultimate relaxation. However if you're more adventurous and like to explore the island the location is a bit tricky to access unless you take a taxi. Taxi's were expensive but the hotel was happy to accommodate and call us one when we needed.

The owner of the hotel who was also at reception was one of the rudest innkeepers we have ever encountered . Any question was met with a look of annoyance . The hotel is far from anacapri and everyone felt stranded.

Fabulous hotel and a stunning pool. Hotel staff are really helpful and the free shuttle service was excellent. The only thing to note is that the curtains are a little light so difficult to have a lie in when the sun is up. Otherwise it is fantastic and I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel.

Very pleasant stay at Orsa Maggiore hotel. Pleasan staff and good rooms and facilities. Only drawback was the corner just outside the hotel was very dark, so walking back at night wasn't pleasant. However, it still felt safe but would have been better if it had been better lit.

Relaxing and beautiful in every way!
My wife and I stayed here for four nights in July 2014. We wish we had stayed much longer! The boutique hotel and its grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and all of staff are happy and very helpful. The view from our room was absolutely stunning! Our private patio overlooked the sea and provided for beautiful sunsets - fantastic in every way! The hotel is located a nice/short walk away from the shopping and restaurants, of Anacapri, and the chairlift to the top of Mount Solaro (a must-do attraction). If you want to venture to the other side of the island, Capri, the hotel has a driver that's happy to take you there or anywhere else on the island. The staff were always happy to assist us with our every need. The breakfasts were great. The hotel is idyllic and tranquil - we stayed in several different hotels throughout this Italy trip, but Orsa Maggiore is by far our favorite!
