"Housekeepers did a very cursory job. We were there for 5 days and I don’t believe the carpet was ever swept. There was a disgusting stain on our window shade, which they tried to clean unsuccessfully. They said it would be replaced if it couldn’t be cleaned, but never was. Front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. Overall, just adequate for travelers."

"Be prepared for a very low budget hotel. Arriving late at night it seemed like an unsafe area of town. The front door of the hotel was unlocked but I walked in and there were no humans in the lobby, I checked in through a computer kiosk with a live human on the screen who was somewhere else in the world. There is no elevator. We were asked if we were OK with a third floor room by the lady on the computer screen and I told her we were but I did not realize that meant no elevator. A woman traveling alone with three children I did not feel safe until we were in the room and the door was double locked. Once inside the room everything was clean. But it felt so strange that anyone could just walk into the hotel at any time because the only person monitoring the lobby was on a computer screen and not on the premise and I worried about my car in the parking lot getting broken into. Then at 5:45 in the morning the curtains did not do enough to block out the very early morning sun and then the power went out at 6:10 in the morning so no more sleeping in. The power did not come back on until 8 AM and by then we had all gotten ready in the dark. There was staff up and moving in the morning and they seemed very friendly but where were they the night before?"

"The hotel was ok. My room had a partial hole in the wall from the door knob. The tub had an ugly patch on the front wall where a hole or something had been. The bed was clean and comfortable, but spread looked old…. maybe tiny burn marks. While uncontrollable, the second morning, the power was out, which prohibited any normal activities."

"The receptionist seemed bored and like she didn’t know what she was doing. Coffee was cold when they first started serving and there was no waffle mixture in machine. Trash cans were overflowing and when staff did come in which was only once they did. It empty them."

"The rooms were really nice. The staff was super helpful. They could have used more assistance with guest bags to the rooms. The ghost tour was awesome. The food and drinks in the 3 Owl bar and restaurant were great! The pool area outside was super nice. The reason we went was for the SPA which was WORTH every penny!!!!! We even booked another session to the 2 we already had booked. Definitely would go back again. Wabash BBQ is literally down the street-Great Food! Not a lot to do outside the hotel experience and spa unless you drive to KC."

"The staff was friendly enough. I've NEVER had a flyswatter hanging on a thumbtack in a room before. We killed 4 flies. The curtains didn't have enough hooks, so they couldn't completely close. I used a hair clip to secure them. I hope that the spots on the wall was over spray from a soda and not blood."

"The staff were all very helpful and friendly… HOWEVER…. The room appeared clean at first. The floors are not carpeted, which is ok until I had walked around the room barefoot a while. I sat down and looked at the bottoms of my feet and they were literally black with floor dirt/grime. It was disgusting! I had to take a shower before even thinking of getting into the bed. When I went into the bathroom and shut the door THERE WAS A USED BATH TOWEL HANGING ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR! These things made me nervous that anything else was properly cleaned and all linens were fresh. I fully checked the bed and bed linens before going to bed, and they seemed ok. The small frig and microwave were clean. I wore flip flops anytime my feet touched the floor after that and left as soon as I got up the next morning! They need to be more thorough and careful about cleaning and when you have bare floors sweeping is not enough! IT’S CALLED A MOP and floor cleaner!!!!! I will NEVER stay here again!"
