Roydon Beachfront Apartments

Before booking our trip we read the positive reviews about the Roydon Beachfront Apartments on Expedia and we are glad to say we were not disappointed. We really enjoyed our stay at these quiet, perfectly located accomodations. The rooms were spacious and very clean with comfortable furniture and great views of the ocean. We were thrilled to find several excellent restaurants within a five minute walk of the apartments. The atmosphere in the area is casual and the locals are very friendly. The property manager Eddie was friendly and helpful with a great local knowledge of the area. Friends of ours stayed in Cairns at a similarly priced apartment which we visited. The rooms were outdated and much smaller than ours at Roydon. In addition, if no one has told you, there is no beach in Cairns while Trinity Beach is fantastic. There are two pools at the resort but we spent our time at the beach. This location is an ideal spot for visiting the Great Barrier reef, Karandu Rainfiorest and has a beautiful golf course only 10 minutes away. We would definitely stay at the Roydon Apartments again.

Good Value

Don't think the Ritz and you will be just fine. We stayed here for 4 nights. the location is great if you want to be on the beach. its not super convenient to get to Port Douglas or Cairns. cabs are pricey and the bus is slow. but we liked being on the beach and in between the two cities. Snorkel from Port Douglas. it's the best way to go. Eddie is very helpful at the Royden. the rooms are huge and a kitchen is nice since food everywhere is pretty expensive. the pool area is fine but if you are in to asthetics then this is not the place for you. the value is unbeatable though so i would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fair deal, clean room, and good location.

Neighbourhood recommendations: Check out Lunica Cafe. Dynamite food and pizza!

Getting around: rent a car and go to port douglas to snorkel, palm cove for dinner, and the rain forest for some hiking. try cairns at night too. tons of shops and a fair amount of dinner places.

Must see: snorkel with Quicksilver....FOR SURE. this is a must. top notch operation. take the trip that stops 3 places with them. the boat is fast and the areas are AMAZING. do not get suckered in to taking another company. trust me.

Great location, great beachfront view, great value. Should be your #1 choice in Northern Queensland

Trinity Beach is a perfect location for access Cairns (and Reef tours), the ariport, Kuranda and The Daintree Rainforest......and Roydon Beachfront Apartments is the perfect accomodation choice. Definitely go with an ocean view apartment - you honestly could not get any closer to the beach unless you were camping under a palm tree on the beach (which actually isn't allowed by the way). The balcony covers the entire width of the apartment and you get to see the most incredible sunrises from the comfort of your living room! The apartment is furnished exactly per the picture on Expedia so there are no surprises when you check-in and the apartment has everything you need to be perfectly self-contained. The hosts (Eddie and Julie) were also extremely helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the tours they recommended. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this accommodation choice.
