Nice hotel which is centrally located for exploring the main sites in Istanbul. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, nice room and a good view. Would definitely recommend and would use again on another trip to Istanbul.
My wife and I had a great four night stay in Hotel Sultania and the only thing that put a dampener on proceedings was the weather. Although rainy weather can be expected in October, it just seemed to be concentrated only on Istanbul at that time! Dinner in the hotel restaurant on the fifth floor was one of our dining highlights with a great uninterrupted view over the city towards the Bosporus. There were many restaurants nearby and we spent a couple of very enjoyable evenings being part of the vibrant pavement restaurant scene.

This place was really great. I had a short layover and the hotel was perfectly located to all the major sites. The hotel staff was really nice too and I felt comfortable being a solo female traveler. I would go back to Hotel IIkay the next time I am in Istanbul.
We enjoyed our stay at Ipek Palas Hotel (Istanbul) very much. The hotel is conveniently located in close proximity to many historical sites and tourist attractions. It is well-organized and managed and above all the staff are very very friendly and helpful. This hotel has the novel position of "Guest Relations" and the staff, Ms. Bilge Ozdemir was a very knowledgeable, charming, polite, and professional lady with excellent command of English and she helped us greatly with our planning. This type of assistance, especially for visitors who do not speak the language and are not familiar with the country, proved to be very helpful. In summary, Ipek Palas was the friendliest hotel we have visited.
I was actually on this trip for business (at Istanbul Commerce University). However, the location is great for tourists, being as it is in Sultanahmet and near Haghia Sophia, Topkapi Palace etc. Although the hotel is close to Sirkeci and the trams it is actually on a quiet street, which is pleasant as well.
My room was small but comfy (tip: the rooms on the lower two floors apparently don't have external windows, I was lucky enough to be higher up.) I didn't have breakfast because it was provided elsewhere.
We have stayed here before and the Hotel is excellent, clean, convenient for all transport and tourist attractions and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, we will be staying again next year.
Near the major attractions such as Ayasofia, Topkapi, and Blue Mosque. For anything a bit further, can ride the tram which is almost next to the hotel. The hotel staff are very pleasant. There are many least expensive restaurants in the back allies.
