It is impossible to praise the staff at Yasmak Sultan enough! This has to be the best hotel in terms of the attention and care given to every guest staying in the hotel.
Reception staff greet you at breakfast and after satisfying themselves that you are happy with your room/bed/pillow, they offer suggestions of how you might spend your day and give helpful tips.
The staff on the breakfast terrace are watchful and attentive, anticipating your needs - though breakfast is technically self-service, they offer to refill tea and coffee cups or fetch your cutlery when they see you've forgotten. Desk staff, cleaners, everyone in the hotel in fact, makes it their business to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, and that all your needs are met.
The hotel is no more than 10 minutes' stroll from all the historic sites, countless restaurants and the Bosphorus. Rooms are clean, air-conditioned and there's good free wi-fi.
If I go back to Istanbul, I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else!
Nice hotel which is centrally located for exploring the main sites in Istanbul. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, nice room and a good view. Would definitely recommend and would use again on another trip to Istanbul.
My sister and I spent 4 nights here for a birthday weekend. It was amazing from beginning to end. Our room was a decent size with lovely Turkish treats every day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

This place was really great. I had a short layover and the hotel was perfectly located to all the major sites. The hotel staff was really nice too and I felt comfortable being a solo female traveler. I would go back to Hotel IIkay the next time I am in Istanbul.
We enjoyed our stay at Ipek Palas Hotel (Istanbul) very much. The hotel is conveniently located in close proximity to many historical sites and tourist attractions. It is well-organized and managed and above all the staff are very very friendly and helpful. This hotel has the novel position of "Guest Relations" and the staff, Ms. Bilge Ozdemir was a very knowledgeable, charming, polite, and professional lady with excellent command of English and she helped us greatly with our planning. This type of assistance, especially for visitors who do not speak the language and are not familiar with the country, proved to be very helpful. In summary, Ipek Palas was the friendliest hotel we have visited.
I was actually on this trip for business (at Istanbul Commerce University). However, the location is great for tourists, being as it is in Sultanahmet and near Haghia Sophia, Topkapi Palace etc. Although the hotel is close to Sirkeci and the trams it is actually on a quiet street, which is pleasant as well.
My room was small but comfy (tip: the rooms on the lower two floors apparently don't have external windows, I was lucky enough to be higher up.) I didn't have breakfast because it was provided elsewhere.
"Great Location - walking distance to Galata Bridge"
You would walk from this hotel only once towards Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, etc...
For the rest of your time, you'll need to walk in opposite direction, towards ferries, etc... and all of them are around Galata Bridge.
Hotel rooms are small, but hotel is clean, everything was working, included breakfast is horrible, but eatable :)
Nice restaurants are around hotel within 50 meters so you have great choice for dinner.
