We wish we stayed longer! The property is beautiful, and the food was great. We very much enjoyed having a glass of wine while watching the sunset, walking around, or while lounging by the pool. We also took a horse riding tour around the vineyard which was a highlight of our trip. The bed was beyond comfortable and the rooms are well appointed. Thanks for a great stay!

Fabulous hotel with a colonial feeling. Staff very friendly and helpful . Dinner was delicious and evening glass of wine provided to all guests of the hotel between 7 and 8pm .Standard room was enormous with full bathroom and dressing area. Beautifully mainrained gardens and ppol.

Loved this estancia hotel. Beautiful, historic property on lovely grounds, gorgeous pool (although not heated). Staff is excellent, guide book was correct saying they are super helpful and professional. We were very comfortable in our spacious room, beds great too. There is a lot to do here: we enjoyed the wine tour and tasting, there is horse riding, spa in room, or jut sit in the garden and relax. The restaurant food is excellent, as is the wine of course. Just a short drive into the pretty town of Cafayate, this hotel should be visited for a few days of sheer pleasure.

Great place to relax for a few days and enjoy wine country. The food is good and we really enjoyed the wine tour at El Esteco. They claim hotel staff speak English but that was a stretch of the imagination. However my Spanish was sufficient to get by.

I didn’t receive the VIP benefits and I booked a horse ride and had a reservation, however when I went they told me they didn’t have it and I would have to wait another hour to see if they had availability. I’m addition the AC wasn’t working well in the room.

Pros: everything was amazing, beautiful property, winery next door has great wine and tastings, the pool was so nice and the restaurant served the nicest food! The only negative thing I could say was the bathroom in our room looked like it needed a renovation and didn’t reflect a 5 star hotel - there were two large mould patches near the roof, hairline cracks in the walls and just looked out of place for the resort. It’s not enough to stop me returning and hopefully was just the one room like this.

You won’t want to leave!
This hotel is a little slice of heaven. The vineyard and property are gorgeous, the room spacious, the employees very helpful and the wine delicious. I took a trip around the vineyards by horse while my friend got an excellent massage. We had a great time at the wine tasting on the premises. Our only regret was not having more time! I’d come back in an instant!

Perfect base for enjoying wine country
Just like the pictures – this is an elegant and peaceful place. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the hotel is elegantly furnished in colonial style. We enjoyed the restaurant and wines; and the staff is extremely helpful with suggestions for wineries to visit or other local excursions; they even helped change our tire when we had a flat on our last morning. The only limitation was that wifi was very slow; maybe that was a sign for us to disconnect. In any case, a great base for enjoying Cafayate.

Beautiful setting and a haven after 4 hour diet road drive from Cachi ( worth it for the scenery). Lovely building with restful courtyards and well decorated bedrooms. Very helpful staff especially Hugo who helped us sort out a puncture !

Beautiful hotel with giant rooms
This is one of the most beautiful wine hotels we've seen. Outstanding place, breathtaking views and rooms too big to describe. The restaurant is also fabulous. and the area is one of the most unspoiled wine regions of the world. Absolutely the place to go if you are interested in Cafayate.

Amazing hotel in stunning location
This hotel was too magical to fully describe but I will make an attempt. On arrival, along gravel road through a vineyard and last the hotels bodega (esteco wine including the amazing Don David wines) the backdrop of the mountains is stunning. Hugo (one of the amazingly helpful concierge team) collected our bags and walked us into the hotel through beautiful courtyards and explaining the history. Checkin was swift and friendly (as were all interactions with the staff). The room was spacious and surprisingly cool (actually slept without aircon and just a gentle breeze through Windows (thanks to bug screen). The hotel itself was beautiful and tranquil with plenty of quiet spots to sit and relax. The pool area was amazing, views of the mountains and the hotel making it very soothing. The food was amazing and despite being there for several days there was no chance of getting bored with the menu and i left without managing to try all the deserts! Obviously the wine was very tasty. We even manage to sample an asado style meal on Christmas eve. All in all this was an amazing hotel and would love to return (just stay longer the next time)
