Hotel Bristol is well located, 10 mins walk from the old town and castle and from the train station. It’s an average 3-star hotel, well maintained and clean. The room was ok size wise, not very big but ok for two people. We didn’t have breakfast there so can’t comment on it. Only thing is that there are a couple of clubs/discos on the same street so despite the double glazing in the room it can be noisy on a Saturday night, but there is nothing that a couple of earplugs can’t solve. The lady at the reception when we arrived just spoke French. I speak a little French so manage to understand. But honestly, I cannot understand how a person working at a hotel reception cannot speak other languages. She told us there was no space at their private parking so we had to pay on-street parking but only for the remaining hours on the Saturday, Sundays are free and then we managed to get a space in their private parking for the last days. The other guy at the reception did speak English and he helped us with the private parking. He was very kind also showing us the city on a map. There are a couple of bakeries (boulangerie) and a supermarket on the street round the corner, very handy. No fridge in the room though.
