"We really wanted to like this place - it’s a gorgeous, old stone chalet with great photos. Unfortunately, we were met by an unpleasant man who led us to a very small room that had a horrific smell. We tried to air the place out but it didn’t fix the problem. We asked about the smell, assuming that we be moved to a different room, but the man was irritated at our request and gave us a bottle of pine cleaner to pour down the sink drain...and that didn’t fix it. "Overall the experience was great. Walking distance to any of the restaurants, an outdoor store in case you forgot anything and a supermarket. The parking is not at the hotel itself as there are two lots (one north and one south) but you can park in front,check in, drop off your luggage then go park the car. You need to ask for the remote to the air conditioner. My only complaint for the stay is that I wish it had a mini fridge because if I want something cold for an early hike nothing opens...

"This is a no frills place to stay. That said, the staff are lovely, breakfast is nice and very good value. Our room smelt heavily of cigarettes, so we had to have the balcony doors open all night to clear it. The shower head in the bathroom was broken so it sprayed water at the ceiling and there were dead flies. That said it was functional and ok for what it is. Wouldn’t stop me going there again as a stop over."

"Wonderful hotel in a very quiet location. Very friendly staff and very quick to sort out any problems. Had a great night's sleep in a comfortable bed, and wonderfully peaceful. "We stayed for two weeks in September. What a lovely place to stay. Both Montse (the owner) and the neighbours are lovely people. Oto is a very quiet village :-). Broto, next village, only a mile away has everything we needed. Small supermarket, butcher, baker, bars and I've no doubt there is a candlestick maker somewhere about. "The best thing about this stay was Pilar's (the host) hospitality! She is lovely, and despite the language barriers, we had some great chats with her and looked round her lovely home - she also made us the best sponge cake ever!!
