I had always wanted to stay in a 5 star hotel so when I had the chance to come to New York City I did just that. The hotel was superb and the staff as wonderful as the hotel itself. The room was very beautiful and roomy. We had a room on the 15th floor with a very nice view of 5th avenue. Upon our arrival we were greeted with cupcakes and chocolate. This hotel is very pricey and the Clement was also but the dinner food was excellent. Our breakfast one day was not up to par because our eggs looked like a fry cook did them instead of a chef. The check in staff, especially Elise, was superb. Always ready to help and answer question on the area or places to eat. All the staff were the greatest always willing to help and be of service
"Very Nice hotel..Centrally located to Times Square"
My first visit to the States for my 50th Birthday...Had an Amazing time..The hotel was Nice, very clean, My room was very comfortable and the hotel staff were very Nice, polite and helpful..I would recommend this hotel, for it's great location to Times Square and very Central to all the Action..The Bars, Restaurants and Cafe's, Theatre's and Sight seeing tours (Which is a must, Excellent way of seeing All the City..I loved it..and very cheap)..I will be visiting his City again...Awesome..
Travelers should understand that this is a classic old hotel and they have kept the best features intact--solid wood paneling and trim, etched bedroom doors, and even window seats. However it also means that the elevators and halls are narrow, and the bathroom very small. There are no "do it yourself" features like ice machines. Those things are delivered by the bell staff. Internet service was. erratic because of the close-in buildings.
Convenient to Broadway, restaurants, and other attractions. The comfortable club room with its telephone booth-coverted-to-reading-nook is a clever re-use of old space. Drawings of writers on the walls. Drinks a little pricey in the lounge, but this is NY and no need to go outside. Appetizer menu surprisingly reasonable for the location.
Excellent staff, very warm welcomed, fantastic interior design, go for higher floor rooms, and 53rd street view is preferable, good location to Fifth Avenue, when the Pool and the Spa will open the facilities would be excellent then
The Shoreham is located in the best location in NYC! Walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Center & Central Park! Subway stations are a block away. The staff was very friendly and helpful. No ice machines on the floors, but a fresh bucket brought up to the room within 5 minutes of my request! The space was perfect for 3 of us. Nice large king bed in a separated area from the sofa bed/living room area. 2 TV's made it nice to unwind and go our separate ways for a bit if we wanted to. I will definitely stay here again on my next NYC visit!
Stayed for two nights. Very crowded in the lobby, but very calm in the floor (we were on 24th floor). The reception didn't let us pay for wifi (it is $15/day!). We got good deal through expedia (~$230/night April 2015). And it has THE perfect location.
The brightest lights of this big city are found in the Broadway - Times Square neighborhood. Experience live entertainment, such as musicals and plays, or tour Rockefeller Center. The iconic St. Patrick's Cathedral graces the entire block of Fifth and 50th and welcomes more than 5 million visitors each year. This thriving area filled with pedestrians also hosts NBC, ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.
