Great location. Rooms are small but comfy. Bed and pillows all comfortable. Hallways and elevator tiny. The reading room is lovely and they offer free coffee all day. The free wifi didn't exist since our room was in a dead zone so we could only access it from the reading room.
One day out of our 3 night stay room was not made. Not the most welcoming staff. Terrible water pressure for showering. Have to let water run at least 5 mins.before water is warm enough to shower plus very little flow.
Room clean, comfortable, but dark and NYC small. We were moved to a room on the 18th floor vs, the reserved 23-33 floor at a slightly higher rate. I asked for a lower rate due to floor location but was denied by clerk and management. The terrace and its outstanding view were reserved for private parties two evenings and thus we were denied use of this advertised feature. Room view was so-so as we were situated on backside of hotel. Location perfect for upper midtown halfway between Times Square and Central Park.
Joe at the Hotel St. James checked my husband and I in with a smile, very pleasant man. The hotel was like a half a block from Time Square. The room we had was very clean. We will go there again. Loved it there.
The brightest lights of this big city are found in the Broadway - Times Square neighborhood. Experience live entertainment, such as musicals and plays, or tour Rockefeller Center. The iconic St. Patrick's Cathedral graces the entire block of Fifth and 50th and welcomes more than 5 million visitors each year. This thriving area filled with pedestrians also hosts NBC, ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.
