I booked on Expedia and gave my credit card info. When I checked in I was asked for an ID, I provided my drivers license thinking they were going to verify I was the person on the credit card instead the clerk said he had to scan it, it was policy. I was not comfortable doing this, it was totally unnecessary. In my past experiences staying in a motel I’ve never been asked for proof of ID.
Also, I wanted to pay cash so when I checked out in the morning I was told that my credit card was already charged, it was about 8:30am. I have never experienced this before either.
The room was not satisfactory but I have to say that the 2 clerks working were very nice and accommodating.
