I love staying at Aloft! It is perfectly located, close to Rte 95, very friendly and welcoming staff, good breakfast, and comfortable bed. The bathroom could use a checkup: good shower, but the toilet and sink connections are loose, and the toilet tissue could be better quality. Otherwise perfect.

The gentleman that greeted me at check in recognized me from a previous stay as did the bartender later on. Both were very welcoming. I observed George, the bartender, was lovely to all the patrons. This is a very comfortable hotel to stay at.

The property was great! Great price…quiet, nice rooms. My only complaint was they came and did a smoke detector check of our room (and others). Our smoke detector was not working! Good thing there wasn’t a fire! That made me uneasy! Shower was ice cold and took 10 minutes of running it to get warm.

The hotel is nicely located and generally was comfortable. Good included breakfast and excellent barman at night. However, it has serious maintenance problems. The heating system in our room was rigged to maintain a relatively good ambiance, but the main unit controls were dead and even the on/off function did not work - I could not shut off the fan, let alone bring it to a lower, less noisy speed; the temp controls were not active, although the thermostat was displaying requested levels. The second issue was that for our five days stay one of two elevators was not functional. With better maintenance it would be a nice hotel.

Staff were all attentive and pleasant. I was worried that it might have been more like a European youth hostel but it is a fully fledged hotel. Room was clean and the large bathroom especially so. While not a high-end luxuty hotel it was definitely comfortable and I enjoyed my 2 night stay. Certainly will return.

This Aloft is in need of some upgrades. Lobby is tired with working wallpaper and messy common areas. The rooms are very basic. The veneer was peeling off the desk/counter in our room and the door handle had been ripped off of the bathroom door. The door is ridiculously heavy for such a shoddy room and with no handle made it even more challenging. Now that said, the handyman did come up on thanksgiving day to install a few one. No housekeeping service on the holiday yet no one let us know - we would have conserved towels differently. We have relatives in the area and have used the Element across the parking lot before. We will return there in the future. This place is dingy and sad.

This is ok for an overnight if you have no other options available. The rooms are extremely outdated. The room was dark even with the light on and a window blind open. There is limited desk space to work. The mini fridge was broken and had to be replaced. There is an odd curtain hanging to cover shelves. The shower needs new grout and was disgusting. You can see the shower wall from the interior of the bedroom, which is odd. The air conditioning worked but it when not on the room was hot and our stay was in the fall, the windows do not open. The hallways were dark and reminiscent of a old Las Vegas Hotel. They do offer a small breakfast that you have to pay for. As far as the area it was quiet and plenty of parking. There are plenty of restaurant options about 7 minutes away by the mall or the small downtown area which is small and walkable but some unique gourmet fun places to eat.

The staff I met was friendly easy going. Nicholas front desk, Robin breakfast attendant. Benson was friendly. The issue was not being told checkout time and being kicked out at 830 at nite .2 days before my wedding. We will b comped, but the night workers was rude and insensitive. If we return to Salem, never again . Hot water didn’t work insink, and thk god I speakSpanish to communicate w/ housekeepers. It made a beautiful trip stressful esp the day before I’m going to another hotel(#3).. Ridiculous.. I hope I get my $ back. No food really avail. Just breakfast items by 10am..

Lumpy mattress, slope in the shower so the water didn't drain properly and front door wouldn't lock. Missed my meeting waiting for maintenance to show so door problem could be resolved.

I liked that parking was free and it was convenient to where we were going to be sightseeing. Staff was friendly. The beds were pretty comfortable but the sliding door in the bathroom was very hard to open and close and the shower had hardly any water pressure. They need to fix the track for the sliding door in room 113! Other than that it was a pleasant stay

Upon entering the room, you notice immediately that there is not a door on the sink area. The toilet and shower (which leaked under the door) were self-contained so if you wanted privacy while dressing this where you went. One hook in that area with no place to hang a towel close enough to shower. Consequently, while soaking wet you had to exit the shower to grab the towel. The refrigerator was kept on a rickety wooden contraption under the sink. When you pulled it out, it teetered and did not stay secure. Unfortunately, there were no bedside lamps which made reading difficult in low light. Except for an office, armless chair, there were no place to watch TV except while sitting on the bed. No dresser to place clothes. The bathroom had some shelves with a few hangers, but it was not the same as having a closet space. Will not be back.

Whenever I travel I try to stay at an aloft hotel! I usually find them exceptionally clean, quiet and walkable. This particular location does not appear to be walkable. The bed linens had a slight odor but other than that my stay was good. Your staff at this location is excellent! Very helpful, friendly and courteous! Also, there was no information regarding the surrounding area. Thank you.
