It was a decent place for 2 night stay- just very loud from the outside and no air conditioning or fan. It’s not the season for air conditioning here

First of all, I would like to thank all the hotel staff very much. They were very friendly and warm-blooded. My room was very clean and it was very close to the city centre. It is definitely a hotel that I can recommend for your short-term holidays

Staff was great, very informative and nice. The room was fine but the bed was very hard. They gave me some extra pillows so that was really nice. AC worked well and the location is walkable to many restaurants.

Highly recommend!
Really well kept and comfortable place with great 24/7 front desk. Three of us stayed in a triple room, which was comfortable and spacious enough, updated everything, and great shower. We opted into the breakfast, only 10 euro for three people, which was good and convenient for our exit to the airport. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay again next time we are in Italy’s most delicious city.

I was not particularly impressed with this hotel. The location is great, so if you don’t mind staying in a worn down hotel just to have the location, then this place is fine. But the restroom was dirty and there were hairs underneath our sheets. Everything could use a serious upgrade, the ceiling was literally falling apart. There were chunks that were falling down onto us. Our shower drain was clogged and left a nasty smell. For the price we paid, I was not satisfied.

Thank you for your comment from which we take cue ti improve our service, but there is a doublt if you have stayed with us or in another Hotel. Please, verify, because we never had falling chunks and cause we just rennovated the rooms. You are always welcome to our Hotel

Good location & great service
Hotel is in a great location to walk around the city. The service was excellent. We requested a crib for our daughter and it was ready to be used upon arrival. Also, the front staff gave us a great service and gave a milk to my daughter for free given that it was late and we couldn’t find a place open to buy one -very appreciated!

Great Boutique Hotel On The Canal
Staff was great!! No elevator but they assist you with your luggage to/from room... Bottle of Champagne was a nice touch!!!

Even though through expedia we could see that the hotel offers a free parking, once we arrived there we have been informed that there was no available parking and that we have to park either at a private parking with a cost of 24€ for 24hr or park anywhere in the street outside hotel for 9€ for 24hr and the receptionist specifically said “ just pay at any pay&display machine...” likely they allowed us to park temporary on a spot outside hotel in order to check in.. after check-in we got the car to find a spot for parking.. after driving for 10 minutes around we finally found a parking space.. trying to pay at the machine we figured out that wasn’t actually 9€ but much more.. As at the machine the only available language was italian we thought that may be we are making a mistake so we decide to ask someone around.. nobody speaks english there btw.. after 10-15 minutes we finally find a traffic officer and she told us that the hotel has to provide us with the ticket that cost €9, no need of a display ticket from the machine. We went back to hotel to ask about this tickets.. and after complaining that they weisted our time he guy said “but you didn’t ask me for that ticket!!!

Dear Sir, It's not true that expedia specify the free parking. Our parking places are to reserve during the reservation and cost € 15,00. Tha parking place in the blu lines cost € 9,00 for 24 ours as in all bologna. We know that you wanted a discount but it's not always possible.

Ok for a short visit
The location is great, you can walk from the train station and it is pretty close to all the main tourist attractions. The hotel is old, but I guess ok for a short visit and just to go to sleep. The worst thing for me is that you can see mold in the bathroom. Breakfast was ok.

Good hotel, will visit again
Friendly staff, great breakfast, rooms were OK, bathroom was clean and dry, curtains keep black dark even in sunny weather. Good WiFi. A lot of shops and small restaurants nearby, the fruit shop was working until 10 pm. Although it's an old building it was warm and AC worked just great. The hotel street is small, but a bit noisy. So be prepared you won't sleep after 8:30 am. No great view, but who cares - we didn't come in Bologna to stay in the hotel.

Stay on October 10th
Great location to explore Bologna. The room was a little dated but was comfortable enough for a short stay. Breakfast was pretty good and the staff were friendly and helpful. Make sure you reserve a parking space with the hotel as otherwise parking is a nightmare.

Hotel Nice - Our stay in Bologna
Its a lovely hotel, quite nice and simply. It fufilled our needs. We had a refrigerator to our convience. Theres a hair dyer also available. You can use their laundry service (which i think are expensive) or just walk 5-10 mins. To a laundry mat. A thing to notice, the shower doors dont completely close, but this was our forth place in Italy and we've encountered this everywhere so in all its the same everywhere. Overall good place, good distant from market n piazza.

The staff was very helpful--even at 5:30 in the morning when I needed a taxi. The hotel is also located in a fun, up and coming neighborhood. The premises are immaculate, if basic. And they could use some softer pillows.

Budget hotel with good value. The staff are friendly. The location is great. It's close to good restaurants and in a historic area. 15 min walk to the train station. The bathroom is a bit dated but it works.

A pleasant surprise
The hotel was easy to get to from the train station, we just needed a gentle nudge in the right direction by an information receptionist. It was a fairly easy walk, even with large packs on our backs. The room was more than we expected: clean, plenty of towels, a safe. Also a free continental breakfast. The neighbourhood felt safe for two women travelling. The only complaint we can come up with is that the shower is very small and slippery.

Hotel location is the best thing. Room clean but beds very firm. Staff not friendly at all even when trying to speak Italian to them. Couldn't accommodate dietary requirements for breakfast, although other smaller 2 star hotels have been able to. Breakfast was very basic, better eating out locally. However, if you just want a basic set up as a place to put your head then this would do fine.

We used this hotel as a base to explore Bologna and find permanent student accommodation, which we did all on foot. Clean, straightforward, value for money.

Good value hotel close to centre
There is nothing pretentious about this hotel, but it is quiet and convenient and offers good value for money. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are well-equipped with comfortable beds and the en suite had shower and bidet and plenty of towels. It was a short walk to the 'two towers and from there to Piazza Maggiore.

Very noisy - did not sleep!
This hotel is directly on top of a bar. The crowd is very loud and hangs out in the street in front of the hotel. I heard bottles breaking and yelling until 5:30am. Do not stay here if you wish to get a good night of sleep. The hotel is in a good location to walk to the center of town. The best part about the hotel was the free wifi and breakfast.

I stayed for 2 weeks. Very clean room, good strong window that kept out the noise of carousing students. Friendly & helpful staff. A major problem with the wifi. The best the signal ever got in my room was "very low." Often not available at all. It's an unsecured network & I was unable to access my Comcast email or check any financial information during my stay.

The hotel was great, in a very central location and comfortable albeit small. Only complaint is that because it is in a student district it can be quite loud outside very very late.

The location near the university was good, but not for the cost. We appreciated the complimentary breakfast (cereal, pasteries, yogurt, etc) and the wi fi in the room. However, the room was tiny as was the shower. Wouldn't stay here again.

Great little hotel in the middle of all action
Nice simple hotel in the middle of the university area, also known as the area within the doors of Bologna. You can walk to the main area in 3 minutes, nestled in the middle of everything. Only hotel during our stay in Italy that announced WIFI in the hotel rooms and actually delivered. Very nice staff as well.

Great location at the right price
We spent 3 fantastic nights at Hotel University and found it to be superb. Its location in the old town makes it perfectly placed for you to experience all that Bologna has to offer. It is also relatively cheap and is definitely value for money. In addition, we found the staff to be very attentive. Before staying at this hotel we read some reviews complaining about the noise of the bar below the hotel. While the bar is quite lively we weren't disturbed at night and were able to sleep soundly. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good value, 3 star hotel in the centre of Bologna.

A decent little hotel, but in a run-down city
Hotel University is a small but pleasant hotel and is convenient to most of Bologna. The city, however, was shocking - dirty and covered with graffiti everywhere. I have never seen a city with such low collective self-esteem that they allow all of their public buildings to be defiled and stay that way. The neighborhood of Hotel University is as dirty as any other part of Bologna, which unfortunately detracts from an otherwise pleasant stay.

University Hotel
Walked easily to many of the famous downtown locations including the Two Towers (Torre Due), St Peters Cathedral, St Stephans, St Petronius, (and many other churches and sanctuaries with ancient Frescos), toured the University and several museums. We also found too many restaurants that had excellent menus. It was hard to choose, but we were not disappointed with any of the meals. The hotel was in a great location. I do NOT recommend driving to the hotel... streets are too narrow with an over abundance of one-ways, pedestrian only streets, all with changes every 2 or 3 blocks... take a taxi in and out of town. Everything is expensive in Bologna except for Pizza at a walk-up stand-only cafe.
