“Far better than I expected”

The St Johns Solihull had poor previous reviews and I can only imagine they have listened to them. The staff were extremely friendly, the extra price of the car park was clearly displayed. The hotel is clean and the rooms adequate. It's a little dated but better than the basic hotels you can book. I travel a lot and was pleasantly surprised to find the hotel staff very helpful and friendly. I didn't have to eat there but for a one night stay it was great on staff, room and location.

we had stayed in this hotel some time ao and it has been remodelled since then much improved, great choice for breakfast. found bar proces expensive but plenty of bars etc in town centre which is a short walk away

fabulous garden and pool. lovely room and breakfast. even with carpark charge good value for money. appeared short staffed- slow check-in and nobody at pool desk/area.

“Great hotel”

I have stayed here a few times as it is handy for nights out with colleagues as I work in Solihull. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and the staff friendly. There is nothing I could find fault with here.

Excellent Hotel in walking distance to the main town centre and less than 6 miles to Birmingham city centre. Will definately stay there again

The staff were extremely welcoming on our arrival. The housekeeping staff were also very pleasant and greeted us in the corridor. We had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to our friends.

“good hotel but safe guard computers etc”

Hotel excellent room welcoming and staff supportive however room too warm needed to switch on air-conditioning which seemed ecologically unsound. Fellow guests had room broken into and computers removed whilst swimming would advise care and possibly place items in hotel safe or return to car if swimming or using gym.

I had booked a double room but as it was our wedding night we were upgraded.The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean and the bed was very comfy

“Comfortable but missed the little details”

Staff were very pleasant & room very comfortable but little details failed the overall standard such as missing handle on the hairdryer drawer, broken bin lid in the bathroom and missing detail on shower temperature control so it looked like a tap that wouldn't work! Also hair in plughole as bah didn't drain shower waste properly. Dreadful music at breakfast but dinner very good and staf very helpful. All problems were minor details and were an indication of lack of attention to detail rather than any serious failings
