All of the staff throughout my stay were friendly and welcoming.
The room was lovely it was in the courtyard part not in the main hotel. If you are a light sleeper ear plugs are a must as the walls are incredibly thin and you can hear people coughing and in the shower/bath.
Car parking is interesting as one of them is very small and people do not know how to park properly.
I would stay here again.
Staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel extremely clean with a good standard of facilities. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel which is very convenient for the centre of Barnstable.
Was an overnight stay after evening theatre trip. Ideal location for both theatre and town. Used local restaurant so unable to comment on hotel dining but the breakfast was excellent. Well presented hotel with lots of history. Friendly staff. Would most certainly use again.
The cleaner's done a fantastic job as the room was spotless . staff were really helpful at the reception . Had an amazing sleep as bed was very comfy we will stay again ..
I stayed for work and instead of the single room booked ended up with a double room. Got there late and reception were friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful but slightly away from the hotel.

I am a bit hard of hearing and was only able to understand some of what the receptionist said. All her vowels were “ah”.
Room smelled of tobacco smoke.
Shower didn’t seem to work.
Nothing was said about breakfast, so we didn’t eat but an apple in the morning. Nice to have the tea and chocolate to drink at that point.
I stayed here with my sister under very difficult circumstances. The hotel were very accommodating when we were coming and going at all times of day and night. They couldn't have been more helpful and we really appreciated it.
Nice central location. Short walkable distance from train station. Close to shops and places to eat and drink. Room was good size and comfortable. Didn't use the on site restaurants or bars but they did look very good and maybe next time as im sure I'd stay again in tbe future .
Great hotel and great service the staff are amazing. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars across the board we had 2 rooms and one felt very enclosed, dusty and dreary with an awful view. Felt it needed updating
Super comfortable bed. Clean room and bathroom. Polite, helpful and friendly staff. Amazing breakfast including beautiful, period restaurant. Excellent location. Would definitely recommend.
A convenient and pleasant place to stay when working in Barnstaple

Rough night sleep
Room was small, stuffy and very noisy late into and then again at 5:50 with people stomping about outside. Shower head was loose and floppy, walls so thin I could hear neighbours pee. Breakfast was £26 so didn't even consider it. Wouldn't use again.
Very pleasant, comfortable stay. Room 202 was spacious and clean and the hotel is on a great location. The bars and restaurants are very welcoming and although we didn’t eat there this time,Awad looked after us on the bar.
Hotel was excellent very clean and comfortable. Room was cleaned to a very high standard every day. Hotel staff were exceptional friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Had sandwiches in bar on our arrival very well presented and very tasty.
Had meal in restaurant on Sunday night. Steaks were fabulous and cooked with perfection to our liking. Plenty of chips onion rings and salad.
Sauces were beautiful. Really enjoyed our stay will definitely be back.
