The hotel itself is clean with amazing staff members who are there to happily assist. Starting the day with a hearty breakfast that is served until 10:30 am made the place even more appealing after jet lag.
We loved the convenience of walking to the tourist areas, along with the ability to take the metro around the corner. Although the neighbourhood is worn and appears a little worse for wear, we never felt unsafe since there are many people around at all times…..
We easily took the metro to and from a Barcelona evening soccer match that was a highlight…the streets were alive and the metro was jammed packed with locals.
We also walked to the Gothic quarter and plaza Catalunya where we enjoyed the hop on hop off bus.
Another gem we discovered thanks to another reviewer.. the El Cortes Ingles department store located across from Plaza Catalunya has a restaurant on the the top floor that provides amazing views of the city while you enjoy a reasonably priced meal and beverage…
I would strongly recommend this hotel to travellers who enjoy walking, and/or don’t have an aversion to public transportation.. the rooms are clean, the breakfast is plentiful with a wide variety, and the price is reasonable for Barcelona.
