Discover some of Brazil’s finest creative talents and international names at São Paulo’s premier cultural facility and institution for Brazilian arts.

The Bank of Brazil Cultural Center is an arts complex that showcases theatre, films, the visual arts and music. It’s one of South America’s leading cultural institutions. Enjoy the arts in many different forms in this magnificent cultural complex and discover the next wave of São Paulo’s emerging artists.

Begin your cultural experience by admiring the building’s magnificent architecture. The Bank of Brazil Cultural Center is situated in a beautiful early 20th-century art deco building and is one of the city’s architectural highlights. The building has hosted the Cultural Center since 2001, after the Bank of Brazil expanded to incorporate São Paulo into its existing networks in Rio de Janeiro and Brasília.

Escape the midday heat in the cool interiors of the Cultural Center and enjoy a matinée performance at the theatre. The contemporary theatre space regularly stages productions in dance, theatre and performance art. See a film at the cinema located nearby and choose from a wide selection of titles. The film program includes documentaries, artist profiles and short films by local emerging filmmakers.

Wander through the galleries of the Bank of Brazil Cultural Center to see international touring exhibitions and an expansive permanent collection. Discover works by local contemporary artists and modern masters. Check the gallery program to see what temporary exhibitions are showing during your stay in São Paulo. Previous exhibitions have included retrospectives of Joan Miró and Andy Warhol. Enjoy light meals and coffee at the restaurant on the complex’s second floor.

Find the Bank of Brazil Cultural Center on Rua Álvares Penteado in São Paulo. Come by bus, metro or on foot. The centre is closed on Tuesdays. Enjoy free admission for most areas of the complex. A small fee is required for movie and theatre shows. A discounted parking space is available on Rua da Consolação.
