"Check in was efficient. Room had Lovely view of Barfusskirche and weather that allowed for open windows. Easy walking distance from Bahnhof (even with heavy suitcase), and the delightful Kraemerbrueke. Somewhat loud on the street at night but not too bad. Room was very clean. Breakfast room was sunny and well staffed with bread, eggs (boiled or scrambled), all kinds of cheese and meats, jams, honey, and several types of tea. Standard coffee machine that produces standard coffee. "

"I was surprised to learn there was no office reception and check in was handled online to obtain door codes. Via phone this was resolved by a very good customer service person who walked me through the process. I stayed for two days. There was no housekeeping offered. I used up all the free coffee. "Room very clean and tidy with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The staff were very nice and helpful bearing in mind that our German is very limited. Hotel is nicely situated with only a short walk in to town. Arnstadt has a beautiful old town centre with a great cafe opposite the Rathaus for afternoon coffee and strudel / ice cream sundaes etc . One of the few places open on Sunday. Nice place to stay for three or four days at least."

"Steigenberger Esplanade is exceptional. The room was perfect, breakfast superior, and the hostess at breakfast was delightful. Everybody was friendly and helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself couldn't be in a better location. It's within walking distance to the town square all the local restaurants and pubs, and some great shopping! Parking is in the garage and there is always parking available! Do yourself a favor and spoil yourself with a stay at Steigenberger Esplanade Jena. It's definitely it!"
