Avoid room 34,its external from the main building and beside the leisure/gym area. It is literally in the car park,so much so there is no privacy because your bed sits at the windown on ground leval overlooking the car park.Room itself was in need of major overhaul although the bathroom was modern and clean. Double glazing was shot to pieces with condensation in between window pains.
Next door was up at 6-30....so WE were up at 6-30, no soundproofing whatsoever between rooms.
Stayed at the Fairfield before without any issues, just avoid room 34 and the one next door
First class service from all staff especially Christine at reception. This stay was a gift from my daughter and she made a brilliant choice I've enjoyed every minute of my stay.

Very helpful duty manager got tv working on Netflix. Very friendly. Breakfast staff friendly. Restaurant was nice and clean only to be let down by the breakfast! Hot breakfast on first morning dry and un appealing. Scrambled eggs dry as sawdust.
Second day asked for four sausage on one plate and bacon and mushrooms on another. So dried out we had to leave itv. We didn’t bother on our last morning and ate elsewhere
First class hotel with first class staff and a very classy restaurant. Management professionalism was a credit to the company and I would have no hesitation in staying in this hotel.
A brilliant advert for Ayr and its area. Very helpful and friendly staff. Ray was most helpful and gave us directions. When in the town the next day looking for the premises he happened to be passing, spotted us and made sure we found the place!
The swimming pool area wasn't to clean. The doors need cleaned they are really dirty. The floors in the womens changing room were like big puddles and dirty.p
Very friendly & relaxed atmosphere.
Room was spacious & had everything we needed.
Public areas, especially in corridors require freshening up but did not affect our enjoyable stay.
The location is great, next to the sea in a quiet residential street, close to the town centre. Friendly staff who made us feel welcomed. Nice pool and sauna, the gym also looked good but we didn't have time to try it out. The breakfast was generous and well cooked with cety friendly restaurant staff.
The room was generous in size and well kept but the air conditioning unit outside the window made sleep almost impossible for my husband. What a shame as otherwise it was a great experience.
We have stayed several times but this was the first time we’d had a room with a sea view which was really nice. The rooms had been upgraded since our last stay. It was also the first time we’d dined in the restaurant for our evening meal. The food was excellent. In fact we cancelled our reservation at another restaurant so we could eat there again.
It was a very relaxing hotel and accessible to the surrounding areas (shops, beach, etc). The staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay memorable. The food was excellent and the leisure facilities where also very good.
Stayed in Family room (Sovereign) with sea view, plenty of space, comfortable bed. Large bathroom with Victorian style bath and separate shower cabinet. Food was very good and service too. Have been several times before and will be back again soon.
Creaky floor boards are not great when people are coming and going. The room was very spacious and the shower was nice and powerful
We had dinner and breakfast both were excellent and had good choices, staff are very helpful and very pleasant
We had an amazing stay in the Fairfield! The room was exceptional with a fantastic sea view. The shower was so good, it was difficult getting out of it. I could have stayed there all day. The jacuzzi was so relaxing, especially after our long walks and added bonus of TV, if you prefer watching a programme during your bath. It is a bit frayed at the edges but we don’t mind that. It is more homely than clinical. The staff are excellent both at breakfast and in the bar. We did come down from the Lochside Spa Hotel after a wedding and again, the staff were excellent there. The hotel company has got its customer service perfectly right. Will definitely return when we are back in Ayrshire.
Very good value for money. Decent sized-room. Good breakfast. Would happily stay there again next time we're in the area.

This is my second stay here. First stay was much better. Room with no natural light at all. Poor sound proofing. Loud music blaring all night, air-conditioning unit from another room rattling all night.
Wonderful setting. Close to the town, always really handy for those last minute items you forgot to pack.
Easy parking. Attractive hotel surroundings.

Sadly, the pillows were terrible. They were not fit for a four star hotel. Pointed this out to the staff and the second night we had different pillows, but unfortunately they were not comfortable Either. The hotel is a little bit tired and old-fashioned looking . on the plus side, it was very cold whilst you were there, but the room was very cosy and water for the shower and bathLovely and warm.
Very good quality food, spacious modern rooms, 24 hour bar, gym, indoor swimming pool, plenty of parking spaces, and staff very very friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for one night on our way home from holiday. From the moment we entered we were made to feel so welcome. Staff were so friendly, polite and helpful. We had use of the leisure complex which whilst not large has good facilities. Our room was very comfortable and contained everything we needed and lots of little touches that just make your stay special e.g. packets of biscuits and hot chocolate along with tea and coffee. We had dinner at the hotel and there was a great choice of well priced meals on offer. Breakfast again was comprehensive and everyones' tastes were accommodated. The location is great just a few minutes walk from Ayr beach and 10 minutes from the town centre. Great value for money!
