Beautiful location about 6 min drive from the town centre and opposite the beach with great views. Really well and thoughtfully laid out in terms of amenities (shared kitchen, sitting area, bathrooms). Would recommend for those seeking a quieter spot to recuperate.

Although this was relatively cheap the room smelt musty. The bed & sheets were clean but the carpet didn’t look recently hoovered and the towels did not smell freshly laundered. The kitchen area was very handy but again it was not terribly clean. Close to the beach and amenities and the lady was very friendly and kind.

This is a lodge this community kitchen and lounge. Astounding views, and a series of double and twin rooms. Bathroom facilities are tidy and segregated. This is a great overnight place if you are not looking for the luxury of a hotel or motel and are happy to share with a community.

The staff person was so awesome and friendly. Went the extra mile to make sure our comfort was met. Recommended good eating restaurants in Oamaru which were spot on. If you want a nice quiet stay this is the place.

Old bones lodge is a lodge
I was looking for a motel with 2 bedroom and old bones came up, when I checked in I found it had 8 rooms sharing common areas including bathroom, kitchen and lounge . It’s a very nice lodge which we had it to ourselves. It has a central fireplace which was very pleasant and Gloria the owner is nice

Something different at a good price
Very nice lodge with friendly staff and excellent view. The communal kitchen and living areas were very spacious with enough amenities . The bedroom was a bit small but yet cozy with a nice comfortable bed. The communal bathroom was a very clean and more than adequate for all the quests.

Expensive for charging extra one person $50 per night which adding a small bed in a very small room. The room is very small, it is maximum for 2 person.

Lovely place to relax.
Old Bones Lodge is everything it claims to be. Rural but close to Oamaru, the setting is wonderful. All facilities are much more than you would expect - A bit of luxury when you expect things to be very basic. Highly recommended.

Adequate facility, good staff
Though slightly out of town, the lodge has all the necessary facilities. Also, there isnt much light pollution which makes it a good place to observe the stars. Noise proofing could be improved, sometimes other guests are noisy in hall & common kitchen.

Really well-organized and good setup that provides for late checkin if required. Lovely outlook from very spacious communal kitchen/living area. Room was less spacious but had a great door/window for another good view, natural light and ventilation.

The lodge is in a beautiful location on the beach, minutes from Oamaru. Quiet location - beautiful night sky and nice morning along the beach road. Didn't take advantage of the kitchen except for breakfast. The hot tub is in a beautiful location. Gloria, the owner, is a great lady: helpful with information, very nice, and friendly.
