We have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years, and unfortunately this time will probably be the last. I believe some of the rooms have been redone, but we were given an old room that is certainly overdue for a makeover. We were a family of four - and the room had three of everything. Three forks, three glasses - and on occasion housekeeping only left three towels. Very frustrating. Housekeeping was terrible - they replaced things but did not clean. We also had no tea towel the entire time we were there - it has a full kitchen in the apartment but no tea towel. To get a hot tray out of the oven I had to use a bathroom towel. Very strange.
We were on the port side of the building and although it was not a major issue, there is a daycare next door - and those little screaming voices bounce and echo off the high rises around you and it’s not that nice being woken up by screaming toddlers before 8am when you are on holiday. It didn’t happen daily - but it was annoying when it did happen.
Location is great, easy to get to Queen Street, convenient access to Woolworths, and easy to get onto motorway to travel west, north or south. Lovely drive to Mission Bay Area. It’s really a prefect location for visitors to Auckland.
The staff were a mixed bunch. Not overly friendly or helpful, but not rude. They need to be reminded a bit about customer service - it’s nice to say good morning, or have a nice day to guests staying in hotel.
