"Great place. It's old-fashioned as far as the building and the parking, not a chain motel. However, it was clean, easily accessible off a main highway, close to downtown, and the staff was very friendly. Parking is right in front of your room door, which I liked. I would definitely stay here again anytime I'm in Athens."
"The rooms were very clean and comfortable. However, the front desk was not helpful. They kept insisting that even though I paid for the room days earlier when booked it hrough hotels.com that my payment had been declined and insisted on paying for it again with a new credit card. They stated either my payment was declined despite having a receipt, confirmation number and bank statement showing I paid. They then blamed hotels.com and told me I shouldn't book through 3rd party companies and to only use their website to book. It was a whole ordeal. I still don't understand what the problem was and they didn't bother explaining. All I know is after 2+ hours on the phone with the hotel management and hotels.com they finally gave in and told me a mistake had been made the gave me a coupon for free coffee because "dealing with 3rd party companies is really hard." Regardless, the place was not worth the hassle.
Lastly, the pool was absolutely freezing. My kids were very disappointed because they had been excited to swim."
"Wonderful stop for our trip. Staff was helpful and friendly. (Laurie makes an awesome omelet!) Staff went out of the way to make us feel welcome. Clean and very quiet rooms. Community pool with slides, kiddie pool and diving board next door along with a pool and hot tub at the hotel. CVS and Applebee's within walking distance. Great hot breakfast variety."
"The room itself was fine. All I needed was a bed , tv and shower. It just was real old and dirty, and broken. My room smelled like smoke (cigarettes) so I asked the front desk to please get me a new room. He was very sweet and accommodating, but the second room he showed me, smelled even worse. After looking for other rooms online in a 20 mile radius, I decided I would just stay and make the best of it. There’s mold in the shower ceiling, many dents and knicks in the walls. And it smells like a soaked sweatshirt rubbed around in an ashtray. I can’t believe I paid a hundred dollars for it."
