We debated about renting a villa higher up the town but, decided to go with the Covo. Boy, are we glad we did! The Covo has the best location in Positano for getting around combined with an amazing view. The hotel is classically Mediterranean and the food is excellent (best pizza we had in Italy).

Although the weather wasn't too good when we were there, this didn't detract from the spectacular views from this hotel, both in the restaurant and terrace and also from the balcony in our room. The hotel staff were all very friendly and willing to please while the rooms were kept spotlessly clean. The shower in the bathroom was probably the best we've had in a hotel anywhere. We stayed with a group of friends and it seems that all of the rooms are different but all with the best views. Would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed in the hotel with our baby son. The hotel is impeccable - it's perched high above the Mediterranean with amazing views of the water and the City of Amalfi. The room was spacious and very well maintained, we used room service a lot - the dinner on balcony is amazing.

This is a gem of a hotel. Staff were lovely, breakfast each day on the terrace was fresh & delightful. Balcony doors opened onto busy square below, adding to atmosphere and this could be blocked out at night by closing double glazeed shutters. Our only complaint was noise transmission through a door adjoining another hotel room. When we mentioned this to hotel staff they were sympathetic and said they had both talked to the room occupants and ordered a replacement door.

"Perfect location. Close to all attractions - beach"
Spent 6 days there. First day used limo car with driver (Euro40-00/hr x 7 hrs) to visit Pompei, Ravello and Amalfi coast. Second day hired a 18ft power boat from beach kiosk to tour Capri and Amalfi coast by sea (Euro280-00 for whole day - all costs). Third day shopped around Positano - recommend Idillio for men and ladies summer clothes. Fourth day lay around on beautiful beach - crystal clear water. Fifth day - same as fourth day. Sixth day - beach in morning and long walk in afternoon - fantastic. All amenities brilliant - if any nit pick, Wi-Fi could be better but was sufficient to keep in touch with business in Australia.

Excellent hotel and far exceeds its 3 star rating. The views are absolutely stunning from the sea facing rooms and is in a prime position. The hotel itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean with towels changed every day and bed linen mid week, also plenty of free toiletries. Marcello and his staff provide an excellent service and are both friendly and very knowledgeable speaking very good english......nothing is too much trouble.
The only downside is that in the evening unless you have a car you have limited access for places to eat. We visited a couple of restaurants that offer a shuttle to and from the hotel and reception were happy to organise this for us. On a positive, the hotel is away from all the hustle and bustle of Amalfie and if it's peace and quiet you're after then this hotel ticks every box. It also has access to a small beach which is a bonous on the Amalfie Coast although to access this it's 240 steps so not for people with access problems.
All in all a fantastic hotel, in a prime location and could quite easily be rated as good as some 4 star hotels. We had a breakfast included and was of a good standard. There was plenty of fresh fruit, fresh cooked rolls and pastries every day, along with variety of cooked meats, cheese, eggs etc. Plus the usual cereal and yoghurts........plenty of choice for everyone.
All in all an excellent stay.........thank you to Marcello and all his staff.
