This was truly the best stay I have ever had in the US or abroad. The rooms are a bit small, but that is expected in a city. Very modern, and most importantly, the staff was unbelievably helpful, from finding reputable drivers to helping us resolve an issue with my bank back in the states. I have not come across such helpful in my 40 years of travel. It is also right across the street from where the auto rickshaws stage, and very close to a market where you can find everything from coffee shop to shops that have any provisions you may need. HIGHLY recommend cor the price (about $85.00 a night). Also, good 24 hour rooms service, and frre breakfast buffet.
We stayed there for three nights. The room itself was great. Our only complaint would be about service outside of the room. As we have grown to expect, Indian hotels typically can't match U.S. hotels in terms of service and attention to detail. We requested that a car be ready at a certain time. They affirmed this request, but were unprepared when the time came. The restaraunt was OK, but sometimes wasn't open on time, or didn't have all of the menu items available. Finally, they decided to leave the front doors open one day--presumably to save on electricity. We seemed to be the only ones to notice the incredible amount of bugs crawling all over the restaraunt and lobby floor as a result.
Nevertheless, our experience here was above average for India. I would recommend it. We will perhaps even stay there again ourselves.
Hotel has small and compact rooms and bathrooms. The Hotel does not meet your expectations when you see that towel given to you are over used and Staff portrays a very casual approach in putting the Toiletiers in the bathroom (they try to avoid keeping any thing above soap , Unless asked)
Staff is untrained and some of them behaves casually or roughly with little sense of courtsey . You should not expect freebies like coffee / tea pouch and sugar free unless asked for.
In my case the door lock was not working , and even in closed door allows all the noises of the corridor through .
The good points was if you ask for any thing it will be provided but no standards were followed as expected from this type of hotels. Coffee Machine in the room is old type with problems of finding a suitable electric points.
Quality and taste of food is good , however the breakfast is a poor show .
This hotel is OK and can be considered if you do not have other options , But In Delhi you have better options around this place in the same budget.
Grand Sartaj is conveniently located close to the Green Park metro station. Though it is on the main road, it is still rid of the noise from the road. The service of the hotel staff is excellent, you generally get what you need even before asking for it.
