Hotel and staff were great and very helpful. Spoiled a little by the Owners/ Managers?? seemingly shouting at the staff while trying to enjoy the quiet of the spa on one occasion.
Spa facilities are superb salt pool was great except if you had an open cut and then it stung a little. Sauna and Hamam brilliant.
Breakfast were well presented and more than enough food to keep you going. You eat inside or out overlooking the sea
We did not eat here but I understand prices are competitive
Rooms are great with lots of old furniture still around in the rooms and hallways.

The hotel was really friendly, lots of nice touches e.g. bikes for rent. Staff were great, breakfast was pretty good (nice coffee), rooms were clean, comfy bed, nice balcony and great showers. Also if needed the wifi connection was excellant. Some lovely sunsets to be had from the roof top pool.

This hotel is in a tree-lined neighborhood, lots of local shops, grocery around the corner, bus transport nearby. But the best thing about the hotel is the great staff. Rosano and Jean Paulo are so welcoming, helpful, and charming....they couldn't have gone out of their way more for us to enjoy our stay. The hotel is small, serves a nice breakfast, has a small rooftop pool, and is quiet. If you are looking for beachfront, this is not it, though.
We stayed at the City Hotel for 2 nights as we had to travel onwards for a wedding. After our first day here and in Alghero we wanted to spend our entire holiday here.
Rooms are extremely clean, we had lots of space with a huge bathroom. Although the view wasn't the best, it was still pleasant. Air con was spot on.
Gianni (sp) on the desk was extremely helpful as we tried to organise our journey to the middle of the island (top tip - you need a car if you intend to travel around this mountainous island!) - he went out of his way to ensure we made it.
Also, for a cheap and tasty Pizza, make sure you stop in on the restaurant before heading out to sample the numerous bars and gelaterias in the old city.
