Nice hotel with free beach, very kind personnel
It is a nice hotel/residence with free beach. The wifi works really well all over the structure and the village is only 10 minutes walk away. They also provide a free shuttle from the port at your arrival and the whole staff is very helpful and willing to advise and make your stay really pleasant. The top roof cocktail bar is amazing but it's only available for a few hours at sunset. The breakfast is also very good. The only gap is a proper bar available during the day or a restaurant, although there are many nearby. There is an on site beautician available for treatments (upon request). My room was in the renovated part of the hotel, it was a garden view ground floor but very spacious.

The Only Serious Choice For Vulcano
Les Sables Noir is THE choice for Vulcano, a "resort" town of low quality. Our apartment (we stayed five days) had a large bedroom and large sitting/dining room with kitchenette, plus nice bathroom. A/C was efficient but noisy. No utensils but useful fridge freezer and sink. Our room (109) was on the corner, facing the beach. Great for the view and access, but not for privacy. The bad eggs smell from the mud baths occasionally wafted over, but not too bad on beach side. It's a 10 min walk to the port. Tip: make sure you call to for pickup or it's a case-dragging walk in the heat down a dusty road. There is no information at all at the hotel, not a single sheet of paper (why not?), so ask questions about the hotel and Vulcano. The rooftop bar would have had more than its 2 or 3 customers a night if someone even told the guests it existed! Also, the restaurant is for breakfast (adequate, but nothing hot - cold bacon and eggs?!? Weird.) and a snack lunch only, not for dinner, so you have to trek along the dark (take a torch), dusty road to the "town", with its terrible bars and grotty pizzerias. They could make a fortune here by opening and publicising that restaurant in the evenings, as the only decent one available. Great small private beach area with good quality shaded sunbeds on the black sands, but charging 6 Euros a day for a couple of towels? Pathetic for a place of this overall standard. The pool was nice, but has no shallow end, so poor for non-swimmers and kids.

Hot in Vulcano
This a beautiful hotel in a great location close to town and the Black Sand beach. There are just some subtly strange things about it. They close the pool for several hours in the afternoon. The pool is beautiful, but has no entrance other than ladders. Our room in the pool area was very small and the air conditioner didn't work. After 3 people confirmed that, they still did not move us until the next day. By the way, the hotel was empty.This made for a miserable night in a tiny room where any attempt to open a window or door brought in hoards of mosquitos. Oh and they were supposed to have taken payment in advance. Apparently they didn't which I confirmed later...But my assumption was that I had paid this. So this made checkout complicated.

This is a beautiful hotel...a bit away from the busy city.staff is fantastic! Helpful, responsive, all in all wonderful. The beach is beautiful, the rooftop bar/lounge great...the most beautiful view I've ever seen !

Beautiful Hotel - You have to stay here!
This was my favorite hotel on my trip to the Aeolian Islands - it is located right on the black sand beaches and has a gorgeous pool as well. The breakfast is the best in Sicily (at least in my experience) and all the staff is extremely helpful. I arrived and was upgraded to a lovely room with two terraces because my original room had a broken toilet. The original room was beautiful too though - right on the pool with a terrace as well. I do not think there is a bad room in the entire hotel.

Service is everything
What the hotel may lack in updated decor and arguably maintenance, it more than compensates for with service and its sunset views. Starting with the pickup from the port, to the people at reception who very willingly helped us organize everything, including our tickets out of Vulcano. It really made for a fun atmosphere for the duration of our stay, which we extended by three days, not wanting to leave. We also got a great deal on hotels.com, which made it all the more enjoyable. (note that if you are paying rack rates, you may not be getting the best value for money, but there are not many alternatives on the island).

Personale gentilissimo e sempre disponibile. L'hotel e' in posizione strategica, a due passi dal centro di Vulcano e con accesso privato alla spiaggia delle sabbie nere. Ricca colazione con prodotti del territorio (deliziose marmellate locali, torte e granita al pistacchio). Abbiamo prenotato una tripla comfort e la stanza - con angolo cottura davvero funzionale - era nuovissima. Altamente consigliato, noi torneremo senz'altro!

Albergo veramente grazioso
L’albergo possiede una spiaggia privata, servita di lettini e ombrelloni e con il bagnino a disposizione, inoltre vi è anche una bella piscina ben curata e sorvegliata. A pochi passi si trovano i fanghi per le cure termali. Il paese offre varie escursioni ma noi abbiamo scelto le cure ed il riposo. Direi eccellente la prima colazione, varia, abbondante e con ottimi prodotti di prima qualità. Esperienza da ripetere.

Bien mais....
Bon Séjour mais avec quelques remarques qui auraient permis d’atteindre une meilleure prestation : L’accueil est excellent par Antonella qui parle français avant le voyage et à l’arrivée. Malheureusement c’est la seule interlocutrice qui a des informations utiles à votre séjour, le reste de l’équipe n’a pas l’info ou N’a pas l’autorisation de la donner aux clients. La piscine est grande et très propre mais elle est malheureusement fermée entre 13 et 15 heures ce qui n’est pas explicable dans un pays comme la Sicile, ou d’ailleurs personne ne fait la sieste entre 13 et 15 heures..mais déjeune. Les plongeons sont interdits, ce qui est là aussi incompréhensible quand on a des enfants. À noter que par compte le gardien est très strict et à l ouïe très fine ... pas contre n a pas vu le voleur de mon t shirt laisse sur le parasol... Le petit déjeuner est très bien mais il aurait été souhaitable que les œufs soient fait à la minute, plutôt réchauffés toute la journée. Bar a cocktail très bien, surtout le barman qui a de nombreuses surprises de grande qualité. Plage très propre et transat toujours disponibles.

Comodo l'accesso alla spiaggia e bella la piscina
Ottima la colazione. Personale gentile. Speciale il cocktail in terrazza con vista sul tramonto e sulla baia di ponente. Camera sul giardino della piscina adeguata. Locali per pranzo e cena facilmente raggiungibili e soddisfacenti.

Dear Sir, I only would like to underline that your reservation is for a DBL room garden view and you have an upgrade in superior room with sea view. Anywhere was written in your reservation you ask a TWN room and, because of the room assigned has two separate rooms ( the kind size bed was not separable) we immedately organize the sofa bed in the living-room. Besides you book a NOT REF rate that allow the hotel to charge immediately the entire amount and you bought a convient rate ( 20% less ) Probably doing the reservation you do not pay attention to the condition and next please specify your particular request. Îles vulcano est très agréable, par ses plages de sable noir et son volcan à visiter ++ L hôtel des sables noirs est apaisant, grâce à sa piscine et son louange bar à la vue des plus plaisantes au coucher de soleil.

Une chambre, coin cuisine, terrasse avec magnifique vue mer, tout cela sur la plage de sables noirs et une eau transparente sur fond noir. Belle salle de bain tres pratique, une réception et le personnel parfaits. Pas de défaut. Nous y retournerons. Le centre ville (!) est à 10 minutes à pied. Il y a aussi des bars/restos sur la plage pour les lunchs.

Un complesso molto gradevole, camere ampie così come i bagni. Climatizzazione funzionale. Ottima prima colazione, con una buona varietà di cibi dolci e salati. Sul caffè stendiamo un velo pietoso... Di qualità i brunch preparati per gli ospiti, serviti all'aperto o nella sala colazioni. Wi Fi gratuito e veloce. Spiaggia privata vicinissima e ben tenuta. Con cinque minuti di passeggiata si arriva sul Porto di Ponente, con i suoi bar e ristoranti. Servizio navetta da e per il porto.

vacanza tranquilla e rilassante. l'isola in sé è alquanto trascurata, peccato . escursioni con la barca ottime. ristoranti invece lasciano un po' a desiderare, specialmente in quanto pulizia, trovare una buona cucina bisogna andare fuori dal centro abitato.

Very nice hotel next to the beach, very welcoming
he hotel is very easy to reach from the little harbour (approx 10min walk) and it's placed 5min walking from Vulcano's main street. The beach is reachable directly from the hotel and it's one of the most famous on the island, made of black sand. Some rooms have been recently renewed. Although our room hadn't, it was still nice, big and clean and with pool view. People at the hotel are among the most welcoming, always smiling and kind. The breakfast was delicious: fresh fruit, cakes, croissants, cheeses, ham and eggs+bacon. Also the coffee is very good, the real italian espresso! There is also a nice terrace where to have drinks that unfortunately we couldn't experiment.

L'hotel Sables Noir si trova proprio di fronte alla meravigliosa baia di sabbia nera di Vulcano, vicino al centro, ma sufficientemente lontano per essere più tranquilli. L'accoglienza al check-in è stata ottima ed il personale ha saputo gestire il nostro arrivo prima dell'orario concordato. La struttura è, chiaramente, in rinnovamento ma la nostra camera era ancora di quelle datate e un po' fatiscente. Il giudizio positivo è sulla struttura generale e sulle chiare potenzialità, anche se è mancata la chiarezza in fase di prenotazione sullo stato delle diverse camere offerte. La colazione era di ottima qualità e il personale di sala attento. L'unica nota negativa erano i servizi spiaggia a pagamento che, per un hotel di questo livello, dovrebbero essere inclusi nella tariffa. L'hotel si distingue per l'attenzione estrema al cliente, alle necessità e alle richieste.

L'hotel les sables noir si trova davvero in una posizione perfetta! A due passi dalla bellissima spiaggia nera di ponente, vicinissimo al centro e al porto, nonchè ai piedi della salita per la valle dei mostri! Ha una struttura molto bella, con una piscina grandissima e davvero stupenda.., tant'è che visto la vicinanza col mare uscivo dalla piscina e andavo in spiaggia! Fantastico! Ma attenzione! Le stanze con vista piscina nn le consiglio, perche sono un pò vecchiotte essendo quelle piu 'antiche', facenti parte dell'hotel storico! Vi consiglio quelle vista mare! Sono nuove e moderne e soprattutto potete gustarvi il bellissimo tramonto di ponente dalla vostra stanza. Per il resto, consigliatissimo hotel!
