Unfortunately, being an older hotel, the building itself has a centralised air-conditioning system, due to which we do not have individual temperature controls in the room. We apologies for any discomfort you experienced during your stay while Adelaide was experiencing a heatwave. The hotel is in an ideal location but the interior is very old and the bed was creaking and old which needs replacing as i told reception on my checkout. the carpets throughout require cleaning or replacing and the decor is stilll living in the 80s. Apart from that it was ok and handy.

The hotel is in a good location, 5 minute walk to Rundle Mall, close to Adelaide Railway station, the tram stops (for the free CBD trams) and Adelaide Convention Centre. The staff are friendly and helpful. My issues were dealt with promptly. My room had a small window facing a wall so no view of anything. There wasn’t enough natural light in the room and hotel so it had a damp smell. The bathroom looks like it has been upgraded but the rest of the room and hotel does need an upgrade. The toilet is not well positioned and could be difficult for someone who is taller or bigger. My shower door did not shut completely. And paint was peeling in some parts of the bathroom. The used cups were not replaced each day. Some cups were chipped at the bottom which should be thrown out rather than left for customer use. The hallway to the rooms has pillars and thick carpet making it difficult to navigate the trolley cases.

The Bathroom Vanity area was very small and lighting was poor. There was no full length mirror. Our room was spacious. The beds were comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

This building is the same as many buildings in Adelaide with years of history. The bathroom was renovated recently. The room size is good. It is just located the opposite of the central Railway Station. It is so convenient for the New Year firework, which is opposite the road, and down to the riverside. The tram stop is nearly just in front of the hotel. The tram is free to go around Adelaide CBD. The only thing I would say is it needs pest control. But it is not surprising for a building with such a long history.

The front desk people were nice, the rooms were clean but the room had 1 small window but was frosted and you couldn't see out, the toilet wouldn't flush which was extremely frustrating when we have 2 children with us and there was no cold running water only very hot so that made washing and hygiene really hard, the blankets were thin and not warm, the carpets in the hallways were very old, the elevators were old and worn too, the carpark barely fit our car in and felt really old and dirty to use as a back entrance. Im not sure if there was anywhere to eat in the hotel as there was no information in our room about the hotel facilities. We left feeling very disappointed in our stay, luckily it was only for one night, we left before checkout time as soon as we woke up because we couldn't use our bathroom.

Excellent Position This hotel is so close to everything. Across the road from main railway station, buses and tram. Our room was spacious and clean, with modern bathroom; however the hallways and above ground public areas are old and in need of new carpet and painting. It's position on North Terrace means you can walk to Festival Hall and the river faster than driving. Can take a bus to Hahndorf for the day, or the tram to Glenelg for breakfast. Highly recommend for a holiday where you don't need a car.

Dear Kim,I am very sorry you were disappointed with the condition of the property, please accept my sincere apologies.Sadly it has become somewhat of a frustrating journey in recent years given the hotel was initially scheduled for a complete redevelopment in 2021 but given the impact COVID had on the building industry this has been re-scheduled for the end of 2024.While it remains managed by Accor, recognising the condition of the hotel does not reflect the standards one would normally expect from an Accor Managed property, we made a conscious decision to de-brand it and return it to its original name the Grosvenor while also repositioning it as a basic economy offering in the twilight of its existence.I am truly sorry that on this occasion we did not meet full expectations, but I assure you the areas of concern you have raised will be follow-up by our hotel management. This Hotel was a great hotel in the 80's, unfortunately it hasn't been updated since, the rooms are very dated whilst being tidy, the lift didn't work so had to walk up 3 floors of stairs carrying luggage, they did give me free parking due to the inconvenience, but that was 200 metres away. The staff were good. overall a pretty poor experience.

Conference trip - great location
Excellent location for events at Adelaide Convention Centre. Room clean, building is a little older but overall staff were great and building was clean.

Overall for just a night its fine. However parking at the hotel is very limited. What is there is a very tight squeeze to park in. Also bathroom doorways are very low. My partner would hit his head every time coming out. Hallway carpets could do with a clean. They are looking very dirty/black. People were nice. Easy stay if a event at the convention centre.

To provide some context; In 2021 we debranded removing the Mercure name to reposition ourselves as an economy hotel. This debranding included the closure of the hotel’s kitchens due to the kitchen facilities age and the associated risks. The kitchen closure limited what we can provide for breakfast which is why our breakfast is packaged, and why our breakfast certainly wouldn't align with that of other Accor properties. The general condition of the hotel and its rooms are qualities that certainly we cannot deny being 103 years old, I am sorry that we did not meet your expectations. This hotel is due for closure with the intention of redeveloping the property in early 2025.We appreciate your insights and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more positive experience.

Comfortable rooms refurbished bathroom. Convenient for events st Convention Centre. Good pricing for overnight stay. We had 11am checkout and at 9.40am the cleaner knocked once and entered room to make bed etc. Luckily we were up and dressed but with 11am checkout did not expect to have cleaner turn up.

This hotel is an older building with some tiredness, however my room was clean, very quiet and the bathroom area new. The location is excellent. Not the right place for you if you are looking for a palace, but quite acceptable for the price. I will definitely stay here again when coming to Adelaide.

We are sorry to read that you had issues during the stay with the toilet and no extra blanket, your feedback will be shared with our Maintenance team and Housekeeping Manager for review and appropriate follow up. The hotel underwent a name change and re-branding into an economy hotel as of the 10th February 2021. We have permanently closed our restaurant down indefinitely; this was not a decision made lightly. We are now only offering a grab & go style continental breakfast served in biodegradable crockery and cutlery every morning that continues to serve toast, pastries, cereal, fruit, juice, tea and coffee. We are very sorry this isn't the breakfast you were hoping for. The location is exactly where I needed. Room was a bit squishy (like the car park) and pigeons were doing a mating dance outside my window pretty early in the morning.
