First up, the beds were clean and super comfortable so was happy about that.
What we really couldn't cope with was the fact that we couldn't open any windows in a 32° heatwave. It was absolutely sweltering in the room. We were given two tiny desk fans which didn't help much.
The bathroom was unpleasant and had peeling plaster on the walls and a mouldy shower curtain.
The pub itself is dirty and unloved. We used to use the Dovey Inn twenty years ago or so and it was always homely and we'll kept. It doesn't look like Marston's taking over has done anything to improve it, rather the opposite. Patio area outside was filthy and unkempt, glasses left on tables for ages. Was really disappointed to see the decline of this once lovely seaside pub.
The staff were lovely, I did raise the issues with the last who checked me out, who was lovely. For just under £300 for two nights, I feel ripped off.
