Great location and hotel facilities! The staff has a great attitude, the only problem we found was to get taxis quickly during the rush hours. It is over one of the best malls in shanghai and that makes it really comfortable for any need. It is a really friendly hotel for a family or even someone that is just for business.

Most enjoyable of all was the feeling of calm. We especially liked participating in the Long Bar service. We used the gym and swimming pool facilities which were superb. The proximity of the subway was an added bonus.
We felt thoroughly relaxed.

I have been staying here for some years. I've written reviews before and now I'm doing it again because this hotel just keeps delivering the best hotel experience I have had anywhere in the world and I do travel extensively.
In some respects it is quirky, but in a very nice way that makes it more endearing and my home away from home.
I take this opportunity to also thank the hotel manager Serge van Vegten. You are in a class of your own. Well done!

Wife & I travelled from US on two week business trip and stayed two nights. Nicest hotel we stayed in. When we pulled up at the hotel, staff met our van curbside & loaded luggage directly on a cart, welcomed us to the hotel & held front door open. After effortless checkin, the bellman led us to our room and carried in the luggage. The room was beautiful and prepared for us with the beds turned down and slippers waiting by the bedside. Wife loved the hardbound book in the room that provided the history of the hotel and Shanghai in the 1930's. All staff encountered were friendly, professional and spoke & understood English. Art deco theme is tastefully prevalent throughout the hotel and provides a unique 1930 Shanghai vibe. After a week of mostly chinese cuisine, the Ciao restaurant was an oasis of italian alternatives. The chicken parm was nicely presented and very good. The soup and salad bar was also tasty and a good value. Also tasty were some after dinner martinis in the second floor bar.
