We traveled to Barcelona on a last-minute decision and no time to research where to stay. This is the best location in the city, and the hotel was wonderful. Friendly staff ho almost all spoke English, on the water, tour buses outside the entrance, near tons of great restaurants and -- most importantly -- clean and new.
We had a three night stay in Barcelona and wanted a hotel that was truly central and of a good enough standard that the experience wasn't spoiled by the usual city-hotel thoughts of 'it's a bit small/tatty/unfriendly'. Fortunately, none of these were true of the Bagues. We had a deluxe room with a wrap-around balcony that, so far as we could tell, was probably the best one to get. It was great to be able to stand there with a (complimentary) glass of wine and watch the crowds on La Rambla. Yet with the windows closed the sound insulation was total. It's a small hotel but very well designed around the space they have and generally just feels like a nice place to come back to after a hard day's sightseeing. Okay, it's probably not the cheapest hotel, but we didn't come away feeling short-changed. We would definitely stay here again.

We checked in at 7am in the morning right after leaving our cruise. We had a seamless check-in process at the front office. The employees were very professional and very accommodating since our rooms were not ready. They took our luggage and kept them safe and gave us a quiet room to relax and use the internet and free wifi access since we didn't have our rooms yet. We left to explore the city 2 hours later and when we came back to the hotel later on that day, our luggage was in our room all ready for us. Amazing room if you like the super modern theme.
"We plan to stay here again the next time we visit!"
We had a fantastic experience at this hotel. The hotel is modern and has a nice restaurant, cafe, bar, and beautiful rooftop bar with a pool. Our room was comfortable and clean, and every single hotel staff member was exceptionally friendly and helpful. It's only a stone's throw away from many sights and restaurants, so we walked to quite a few places just a few minutes away during our stay. We look forward to staying here again in the future.
This is a very contemporary and sleek hotel which requires a degree in computer science to call an elevator. It's all automated and the view is great. Luckily another guest gave us a tutorial on the elevator so we could get to our room. Airport is a distance from the hotel, so they don't run their shuttle often or on-call. There's only 2 in the evening with 1 1/2 hours between them. Taxi is 22 euros.
Comfortable and spacious rooms with great views of Barcelona lights. Dining room dinner was excellent and reasonably priced. Hotel got some points deducted from me for not having any tissues in the bathroom and lobby furniture is built for children and not very comfortable. Also, the coffee in the lobby was gone by 6:30 am and no time to go to the 4th floor dining room before the 7 am airport shuttle.
