This hotel is within walking distance of many of the sights of Barcelona (las Ramblas, gothic quarter, cathedral, Port vell, Parc de Cuitadella, Passeig de Gracia) and transport (metro or bus) to any places further afield is easily reached. The hotel is clean and efficient with delightful staff. Breakfast is a la carte and very good and included in the price even if you have it in your room. The free minibar is also a welcome addition. Air con worked well and the shower had excellent water pressure and temp control. Molten Brown toiletries also a bonus. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows to choose from. There is some noise from Placa Reial at night but this can be minimised by closing the shutters, windows and curtains - the hotel cannot really be held responsible for this and in 4 nights I was woken only once. The hotel provide daily treats as an added bonus - fruit in the afternoon and sweets, muffins or cookies in the evening. All in all it was a very pleasant stay in a well run hotel in a very convenient position within Barcelona.

We arrived at the Mercer Hotel for a 5 night stay to celebrate my birthday and to see the sights of Barcelona. Neither of us had been to Barcelona before and were hoping that we had chosen the right area in which to stay. We were not disappointed. Set right in the middle of the Gothic Quarter surrounded by quaint streets and nooks and crannies! From the minute that we arrived the Staff were attentive and helpful and our room was ready, always a bonus. We loved our room, comfortable, large, and in a quiet part of the hotel. We were soon out and about and found all sorts of squares, cafes, restaurants, and bars, and of course, we were close to La Ramblas and shops. Regarding praise for the staff ,We would especially like to mention Florencia, who certainly went the extra mile, and Juan Manuel and the bar staff upstairs by the pool bar where we stopped each evening before retiring. Also we appreciated the special attention on my birthday!

I've been to several hotels around the world from Hawaii to Asia and Europe and I can say that it was by far the best service I have ever had. From the valet to check-in to the concierge absolutely hands down the best! Our check-in assistant Jasmine, was very knowledgeable and excited to share what Barcelona had to offer where to go eat how to get around where to go shopping. She even remembered our names later on and assisted me with some business calls.
Everyone spoke English proficiently and was above the level what I would consider sufficient.
I work in the Food and Beverage industry and consider myself to be critical when it comes to service. Pricing is too easy a level to compete on! Service must define and separate you from your competitors and The Hotel Arts is World Class!

Looking for a central location in Barcelona? Well the Hotel Majestic Residence is the place to be.
Located on Passeig de Gracia where all the high end shops abound. Go one block east or west or wander down any side street and you'll find several dining options. Gaudi's two houses are a few minutes walk away.
The Residence offers daily fresh towel service as well as weekly cleaning as well as 24hour room service, as the hotel property is just across the street.
We had a 2-bed 2 bathroom apartment and it was perfect. 12 foot ceilings, very quite and had every amenity you require for a stay of over a week.
There is a fabulous tapas restaurant next door, but you have to sit at the bar...so you can see and choose your tapas. Don't eat outside with all the tourists. Pizza is fab too. Not to mention all the other and better restaurant in Barcelona are within walking distance as well.
We will definitely return.

We had four enjoyable days at this hotel, the highlight of which was a wedding on the sunlit patio overlooking Barcelona. The wedding breakfast was magnificent and the hotel staff were very attentive, particularly to the youngest member of our party, who has just turned six.
