This was the best hotel experience of our 16-day trip! We had the best, restful, most comfortable sleep in the most comfortable beds with the softest pillows! My girlfriend came home and couldn't sleep in her own bed. She is missing the pillows and bed in the Millennium Hotel! The service was excellent - Tim and Fraser were particularly outstanding, very friendly and helpful! The accommodations were exceptional! The room we booked was not available so they gave us another room which turned out to be occupied. So they sent us to the club room with a king size bed & a fabulous view of the lake, but we requested 2 beds, so they put us in a room with 2 queen size beds and our own spa! It was absolutely FABULOUS! We had the Rotorua thermal mud body wraps & a therapeutic massage at The Spa that was heavenly! We enjoyed the hot breakfasts at the Brasserie Poolside Restaurant and dinner at the Restaurant Nikau was excellent! We especially enjoyed the chilli coconut New Zealand green mussels and the char-grilled lamb loin! Just fabulous! We have already recommended this hotel to others and will definitely return to this hotel when we visit Rotorua again!
"Beautiful historical hotel, centre of Rotorua NZ"
This is a gem. The minute you walk in you are back in time. The staff greeted us and made us feel welcome immediately with a little tour and history of the hotel built in the 1890's, staff service A1. The hotel is one of the oldest in NZ. Chandeliers everywhere including our room decorated in keeping with the style. Beautiful bar and cocktails.
Couldn't have picked a better place to stay - in the CBD, a short walk to shops, restaurants, etc, at the end of a quiet street so no busy thru traffic going by. Lake view from the room.
While some aspects of the decor would benefit from a spruce-up this in no way affected our stay.
Had access to the pool and spa.
Would definitely stay there again
My partner and myself stayed here for one night as a weekend getaway. Upon arriving we were greeted with a warn friendly welcome from the woman at reception and given tips on where to go, what to do and possible discounts. Were shown our room which was cozy, spotless and very well presented. Bed was comfy and room was relatively soundproof, or atleast we had no issues with other guest noise. Geothermal pool was nice and warm, we also had a room with a spa which was great. Only gripe would be the shower lacks a little pressure but hey, nothing beats a shower at home. Price here was very reasonable, would definitely stay here again.
