"Relaxing week with a friend."
We are 2 friends who stayed from Tuesday to Sunday. We were attending a friend's wedding at the Kahala. We spent some time poolside, but more time at the beach. Hotel is at marina, not directly on Waikiki beach, but short walk to the beach. The main beach area is about 15 min walk. Starbucks is at nearby Hilton village and good acai bowls and juice place there. Also walked a couple blocks to cafe down the street Hiker's cafe for healthy lunch/dinner options at reasonable price. It was nice to also have a trendy lounge and club downstairs so we didn't have to go far to have a drink. I recommend running (or walking) at park down the street across from Ala Moana mall. For an hour, did a couple laps. Fitness center is decent size but quite busy. There is water and green apples. Towels of course. Iced face towels. Main pool is kind of small and there were surprisingly a lot of kids. One day all the chairs were already taken by 11 am. The adult pool is really a shallow wading pool/fountain but is quieter. If you sit poolside, they bring your free snacks- lychee sorbet, pineapple slices. There is also self serve ice water with fruit in it. Good frozen drinks. Didn't try the food but it looked good. Nice shower and bathroom. I liked the bath products- made in Pasadena, CA. My room did not have a balcony, but seemed like half of them do. Ocean and building views. Staff is really friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check out at 1 pm on our last day.

"Classic Hawaii"
True Hawaiian experience. Not another high rise hotel with no character. Only downfall is with the city view rooms. Ours was VERY loud due to street noise late into the night.

"Great experience"
Hotel is conveniently located for many activities on the island, including the beach, Pearl Harbor and Honolulu tours, shopping, dining, etc. and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. We did have a problem with the concierge which told us the bus pick up location for the Pearl Harbor tour had changed due to a parade (pick up time was 6 am so it seemed a bit questionable). In fact the location had not changed and we missed the bus to Pearl Harbor at 6 am. Thankfully, we were able to get on the 8:30 am tour but it significantly impacted our planned activities for our short stay.

"Pleasant but troubling"
It was a very last minute decision, because of fathers day, I decided to spend the hotel price of a little under a $1000 for one night, after viewing the pictures on the internet, I was very satisfied to pay this amount. The staff, the grounds, the cleaniness all were excellent. One very bothering concern. The room was out dated and the aircondtioning was not adequate for the size of the room. It was disappointing, but it did not dampen my spirit or the spirits of my children. For it is the people and not necessarialy the physical atmosphere. But when I decided to spend the $1000, I did not expect to go into a room dated probably 20 years ago. Please note that I am an architect and I am very well aware of the decor. Out of curiosity, I had the oppurtunity to peek into the adjacent room when the cleaners had the door open. and it was not the same decor. My intent of spending the $1000 was to stay in a suite, we spent many times at an adjacent hotel embassy suites for less, but I intended to spend more and stay in a suite for a night. Again sad, but it was Father's day, so nothing could overturn this day. Sheraton is a great hotel, this is probably just a circumstance that no one was aware of.

"Nice Hotel"
Nice and close to the beach. Room is very clean and the hotel has many amenities. The hallways and general areas are NOT air conditioned and therefore quite uncomfortable on high heat/high humidity days. The air conditioning in the room is motioned centered, so you have to get up and move around in the middle of the night in order to get the cooler working again. Also, the air stops working if you open the balcony door. In my opinion, they have taken the energy saving a bit far considering the hotel rate. Otherwise, the staff are friendly and helpful, great front desk, concierge, bell boys, valet parking!
